Packaging and accessories
What we got was the MIIX5 suite version with a keyboard and six generations of core i5-6200U+8G memory+256G storage. The configuration almost coincided with the Surface Pro4. The machine is packed in a pure white "lunch box", which is very rare in the notebook. The surface is a very ordinary paper surface, and it is somewhat unexpected to take it. On the back are common energy efficiency labels and production information.
The package is placed in three layers, including the keyboard, MIIX5 body, instruction manual/charger/stylus and its accessories in the protective cloth bag.
The charger is very compact, only twice the size of an ordinary mobile phone charger, with an output power of 45W and a wire length of about 1m.
The stylus is made of metal. It can be inserted into the fixed bracket of the USB interface, powered by an AAAA battery (included), and can be replaced by rotating the cap.
The stylus supports 4096 level pressure sense, which is twice as high as the common level. There are two buttons on the side. After the battery is installed, the weight is much balanced, but it still has a little weight. The size and weight are very close to common pens.
The back of the keyboard cover is leather with edges and corners. There is a very delicate skin like coating on the front of the keyboard, which has a very good feel but is relatively easy to get fingerprints.
The keyboard is Lenovo's classic shape. The key range is unexpectedly large, and the feel is very close to that of the notebook. However, the backplane is inevitably deformed when typing. The touch pad also feels good, but the press feedback is fragile, and the area is a little small.
Appearance and workmanship
The front and back are very conventional. The special thing is that the metal back has radians as a whole, and the family type hinges.
The top is a plastic cover which is also used as the heat dissipation grille and the signal overflow position.
The interface is mainly on the left side, and the key is on the right side. It can be seen that the side of the machine also has radians.
The thickness of the frame on the front of MIIX 5 is generally controlled. There is a whole circle of plastic washer higher than the edge screen at the junction of the screen and the frame. This is a very traditional plate processing method, which can simultaneously handle the assembly tolerance and reduce the risk of screen breakage, but at the expense of edge feel.
There is a logo and a camera on the top of the back, which may be to make way for the position of the internal cooling air duct and antenna. However, what kills Virgo is that the camera is not centered.
The cooling grille is made of plastic, so its texture and color are different from the body.
On the right side of the fuselage are power and volume buttons and headphone holes, on the left side are microphones, Type-C, USB 3.0 and power connectors, and on both sides are speakers below the fuselage.
The Lenovo family style hinge design is very exquisite, and the rugged screws around it give a very masculine impression. A large number of parts bring a very special sense of damping. The damping is too heavy, and there is almost no void once it stops.
The plank of the bracket is relatively thin, but the bending resistance is OK. There are many product information stickers hidden behind the bracket.
MIIX 5 supports not only look like surface, but also have very similar angle, which is more than enough to cover the daily angle.
The keyboard cover can be attached below the screen to provide an additional level of height adjustment.
The MIIX 5 screen is a 12.2-inch 1920 * 1200 16:10 IPS screen. The maximum brightness of the official logo is 320 nits, and the visual perception is OK. The overall workmanship of the machine is basically in line with expectations. The minimum MIIX 5 configuration version is only RMB 4399, which is already quite cost-effective.
