Just after the opening of the 2016 World Image Expo (Photokina 2016), major manufacturers have launched a blockbuster. Olympus is one of them. It has launched two compact anti reflection cameras, OM-D E-M1 Mark II and PEN E-PL8. The OM-D E-M1 Mark II will replace the old OM-D EM1 as Olympus's new flagship anti reflection camera. Olympus emphasized that the E-M1 Mark II camera has greatly improved in high-speed, reliability and image quality.

The OM-D E-M1 Mark II uses a Live MOS sensor, which increases the pixel to 20.4 million, 25% more than the previous generation, and has built-in five axis anti shake. It also uses a new TruePic VIII image processor, with 4 computing cores+4 processing cores, which is about 3.5 times faster than the previous generation. In terms of high-speed, it is equipped with a new auto focus system, with a maximum of 121 focus points, and all focus points are cross focus points. Thanks to the upgrade of sensors and image processors, the maximum continuous shooting speed of the machine has reached 18fps. If autofocus is not used, its self shooting speed can even reach 60fps full pixel RAW file continuous shooting. The official price has not been given yet, and it is expected that the machine will be officially launched later this year.

As for the other PEN E-PL8, it is the main retro series. It uses a 16 million pixel Live MOS sensor with M4/3 specifications, and supports up to 81 points of auto focus and 37 phase AF areas. Compared with the previous generation, the new model has an additional 180 ° rotatable screen. It is equipped with 14 kinds of art filters, iAuto mode supports automatic switching of 42 kinds of intelligent scenes and settings, and built-in Wi Fi can connect with mobile phones to share photos in real time.

Olympus E-PL8 will be launched in October 2016. The price of the body is $550, and the price of the 11-42mm IIR lens set is $650. At the same time, the body is available in white, brown and black.
