Some things in life, forget also forget; But there are still some things that will have serious consequences if they are forgotten. You may often hear or see people in a certain place lock their children in the car and suffocate them, or lock their children at home and leave them unattended, and their children fall to death when they turn over the window. These events happen either because the parents (or guardians) have no relevant knowledge or experience, or because they believe too much in their own memory. The same is true for a normal person, and the same is true for a sick person when it comes to taking medicine. The ancients once said, "Medicine is like a soldier. A soldier can defend a man's death, but not his life. Medicine can cure a man's disease, but not fatten his flesh." It can be seen that although medicine cannot nourish a man's life, and cannot fatten his flesh, it can defend his death and eliminate his disease. Therefore, it is particularly important for patients to take medicine, especially on time. "According to the data of CVS in the United States, about 3-5% of the complications are caused by failure to take medicine on time; about 290 billion dollars of medical losses are caused every year; more than 300000 chronic disease patients die every year in China due to failure to take medicine as instructed by doctors."? Two young Chinese people have brought us the answer, which is the Memo Box smart kit.

The first version of the Memo Box smart kit function machine was developed by Lu Shan and his classmate (Lu) Meichen in Cambridge, England, in 2012. After mass production, it won the German Red Dot Design Award in 2016. Due to China's complete industrial system and complete industrial chain, the Memo Box smart kit finally landed in Shenzhen, China, which is now a product of Tinylogics Small Logic Technology.

The Memo Box smart kit used in this evaluation is a Bluetooth version provided by Lei Feng Network through the point trial form.

Unpacking

Lei Fengwang directly spliced a plastic bag from an express company outside the product packaging and delivered it. Tearing the plastic bag, everything was OK except the corners of the product packaging were not so smooth. Not over packaging, reflects the progress of people's environmental protection concept.

The front of the light blue paper packaging box is mostly the front picture of the white Memo Box intelligent medicine box, and the LOGO sticker for trial use is also stuck on the front. At the lower part is the English version of the smart kit, namely SMART PILLBOX, and below it is the English version of MEMO HEALRH.

The back of the packaging box is mainly printed with the main features of the product, the description of the replaceable kit accessories, the APP adapter and other certification or declaration information, all in English. It is estimated that this will change when it is officially marketed in the mainland.

The other four sides of the packaging box are printed with pictures of the corresponding side of the product. Seeing the packaging box gives people a general understanding of the true face of the product.

The two ends of the packing box are not sealed and "guarded", so it is impossible to know whether the products inside are unsealed or brand new, which needs to be noticed. Open the packing box. Inside the box are two rectangular white cartons. One has a hole in the front that matches the Memo Box smart kit, with the Memo Box smart kit and quick use guide; The other paper box is empty, which seems to be the packaging box of the replaceable medicine box reserved for the officially launched product (an empty box is reserved for the trial product, in order to save costs? It seems not very kind).

The Memo Box smart kit used in this trial is a Bluetooth version, made of ABS resin, and its main body is white. At the junction of the upper and lower covers on the side of the box, there is a circle of blue ribbon embellishment. There are some leaping transitions. It looks less dull and rigid, and it has a sense of fashion and design. It deserves the title of the Red Dot Design Award. The A side is almost the same as the D side, except for the printed MEMO BOX logo at the lower right corner of the A side.

The Memo Box smart kit is 100mm * 76mm * 22mm in length, 76mm * 22mm in height, and 70g in weight. It is very small and portable, so it is easy to put it in the back pocket of jeans.

There are many articles on the pivot of the Memo Box intelligent kit, including the battery compartment, LED lights, alarm delay switch, and even the SIM card slot (not supported in this trial version). Let's talk about it.

On the right side of the front is the battery compartment. Use a coin or thin button to insert one end of the shaft into the "I" shaped groove. Turn counterclockwise to open the battery compartment cover, and then take out the plastic insulating sheet sandwiched between the two button batteries. The device will be powered on (Once the power is connected, the Memo Box will continue to be in standby mode, and no switch can control it, unless the battery is buckled).

The Memo Box uses two A76 Energizer batteries, which are said to have an extra long standby capacity of one year under typical use conditions. In the trial days, its battery life cannot be tested.

The only button of the machine is at the left front rotating shaft. When you press it, you will feel the same feedback as when you press the keyboard. This button has the following functions (not the on/off key):

1. Press once, if there is no "beep" sound, it means that the battery is exhausted;

2. When the battery power is normal, press once, and the breathing light does not light up, indicating that it is not the time for taking medicine; Press once, the breathing light is green, indicating the current time of taking medicine;

3. When the medication reminder bell rings, press the button once to postpone the reminder time. The kit will remind again 10 minutes later, which can be postponed for 3 times.

In the middle of the rotation axis is a circular breathing lamp. Light signals of different colors represent different meanings:

Not on: when pressing the button or opening the kit, the breathing light does not light up, indicating that no medication is needed at present;

Green: medication reminder, indicating the current medication time;

Red: repeated medication alarm, indicating that medication has been taken in this period.

When the lid is opened, the Memo Box still gives a simple and lively feeling. A 4-compartment inner box is attached. The inner box is made of special medical materials. It has been certified by FDA, marking the safety of the inner box material. The inner box is of replaceable design, with 2 compartments/4 compartments/7 days inner box set available.

The capacity of the inner box is shown in the figure below, which is from the official. After the inner box is taken out for single use, the Memo Box can contain a full page of tablets or large liquid medicine in small bottles like Lanqin Oral Liquid. But for drugs with larger specifications, Memo Box can do nothing.

All settings of the Memo Box smart kit are in the "Super Health" app on the mobile phone. The app has adapted the iOS system and Android system and is still in beta. I use an Android phone and naturally download the Android version.

The icon of the "super healthy" app is a light blue clock, which is lighter and not so dazzling among many app icons. Open the app, and after an opening animation, the screen will stay in the interface as shown in the right figure. Let's click "first look around".

Then a medication reminder interface will appear with three menus: "medication reminder", "medication record" and "more". Click "More" to open the interface as shown in the right figure.

Click "Add Smart Kit", the login page will appear, and then create a new account to log in (right figure) before adding the kit. Open Bluetooth, add a smart kit, click Memo Box, and an interface as shown in the left figure will appear, displaying the connection status/box search/remaining power (18% is the power when the box was just opened; after one week of use, the app will display 97% of the power, indicating that the app's detection of the battery power of the smart kit is not accurate)/software update (OTA update can be made to the app through "software update") and other information.

After clicking to find the box, within the Bluetooth coverage distance, the smart medicine box will send out voice alerts and green flash alerts. The voice alerts are not big, but a little small for older people.

After logging in, the system will assign you a health number (I am 20282). Click "Medication Reminder", and you can add a reminder through the alarm clock+icon in the upper right corner, including the reminder time and drugs to be taken. It can be set to take medicine regularly every day or customized; When taking medicine, you can make notes by taking pictures with the camera, add information such as the name and quantity of the medicine you take, and then click "Save" in the upper right corner.

When the set time for taking medicine is up, the super health app will display "It's time to take medicine", the Memo Box smart kit will give an audible and visual reminder, give a sound of "beep...", and the LED breathing light will flash green. When you miss the time to take medicine, after opening the Memo Box smart kit, the app on the mobile phone will use a yellow band to remind you that you are "late". To adjust the medication reminder, click the "Edit" button in the upper left corner of the interface to modify it. In actual use, I found that the intelligent medicine box is to judge whether you take medicine by whether or not to open the box cover, and does not scan the change of the amount of medicine in the inner box.

If you have taken medicine, open the Memo Box smart kit again within the set time, and the breathing light of the Memo Box smart kit will give a red reminder to avoid taking medicine again. This is the repeated alarm function of the smart kit.

Click "Drug taking record" to view the drug taking situation of automatic survival. The blue mark is the record of taking drugs, and the red mark is the record of not taking drugs. Record, so that the medication can be followed, not missed, not repeated, knowing at a glance.

In order to test the remote reminding function of the kit, I registered a health number (20283). Click "Family record" and then click the double icon in the upper right corner to add family members by searching the mobile phone number/health number at the time of registration.

After searching my previous health number (20282), click Add to get the result shown in the right figure: waiting for passing the request. After the family member passes the request, you can check the medication taken by the family member, as shown below.

There are two buttons, "poke me to remind TA" and "one minute free call", under the view of family's medication. Click the latter one to get the interface as shown in the figure. After the other party connects, you can call to remind your family and care for your family.

The users who need to use the Memo Box smart kit to manage the medication situation are mainly those who have long-term medication needs, such as those taking health care products, patients with chronic diseases, pregnant preparation people, etc. Among these people, if we divide them by age, there are quite a few elderly people who have done revolutionary work all their lives. They are more or less physically ill and need to take medicine for a long time for treatment or control. In addition, as people get older, their memory declines, and they often forget to take medicine, which brings unexpected consequences. Memo Box is probably the best choice. However, the setting of the smart kit must be carried out through mobile phones, which is relatively complicated. Most of them can only rely on children to show their love and filial piety.

The Memo Box is small, exquisite and portable; It has such intimate features as intelligent medication reminder, family remote medication reminder, repeated medication alarm, medication record, and medicine box searching, and it can replace the inner box, providing rich options for carrying the dosage for a certain time.

Disadvantages: first, the bell for reminding is too small. Although it can avoid the embarrassment caused by loud voice in some occasions, it really needs to be improved for the elderly. If it can be adjusted, it will be more perfect; Besides, the ring tones cannot be customized. There is no such thing as "Sir, it's time to take medicine". Secondly, at the moment when WIFI is at its peak, without the blessing of WIFI, there is less convenience of connection and expansion of coverage. Finally, the Memo Box smart kit can only be set through the cooperation of mobile phones, and cannot be operated on the box body. It is ruled out that users who use non smart phones (or smart phones not adapted to the operating system) may use the Memo Box.

But in general, there are no hidden flaws. The crowdfunding price of the Bluetooth version is 99 yuan (currently there are three versions of the crowdfunding version, namely, the Bluetooth version/SIM card version/Bluetooth flagship version, and the price ranges from low to high 99/179/398). The cost performance ratio is very outstanding. For you who take the medicine, it is worth having. I hope to recover as soon as possible with the help of the Memo Box.
