On the afternoon of August 23, Yijia released the hydrogen OS 2.5 public beta system. This is the biggest change in the history of hydrogen OS, and it is also a sign that Yijia began to unify at the system level. However, for domestic users, whether this change is good or bad is still inconclusive.
Upgrading process and science popularization
This official release is a beta system, which provides card swiping package, but does not carry out OTA, and only provides one plus three ROMs for the time being. Download the card brush package from Yijia Forum or the official website of hydrogen OS. The size is 1.21G. The size of the ROM can predict how simple the system is. System upgrade - settings - local file, select the ROM you just downloaded, and you can flash the machine.

The kernel and baseband versions are unchanged before and after the system upgrade, and the original data will not be cleared. The first thing to be popularized here is that in the era of Yijia Mobile Phone 1, Yijia won many users abroad with its cost performance ratio and Cyanogen's CM ROM. Later, they parted ways. When Yijia Mobile 2 was released, Yijia launched its own customized ROM. The foreign version was called OxygenOS, and the domestic version was hydrogen OS.

Both versions are featured by simplicity and fun. The oxygen OS used abroad is good at rich and delicate animations, maintaining the appearance of native Android, while the hydrogen OS used domestically is a very special domestic ROM, card type hydrogen window (1/3 of the desktop is a special wallpaper display window, click to enter the calendar/notes/card coupon list), cancel the desktop plug-in widget The absence of a dock bar is a rare setting. However, the common point of the two versions is that they are both in the stage of completing the functions, and the functions of their own apps are not as perfect as those of common domestic ROMs.
Once the hydrogen OS2.5 is added, the two versions of the system are gradually integrated. But the bad news is that what has been merged is the home-made customized hydrogen OS... This upgrade can be summarized as adding some features of hydrogen OS to the oxygen OS framework, which is exaggerated by changing the oxygen OS's skin.
In the eyes of users who are accustomed to domestic ROMs, this is actually a setback, announcing that many of the settings that the domestic customized hydrogen OS insisted on at the beginning have been abandoned. The interface of the new system is close to the original Android. The original colorful design style is unified to the original unified light color system, but the overall visual feeling is consistent with hydrogen OS2.0. The setting page returns to the original system layout, and conscientiously adds the search box. But the original colored icons have become unified and simpler, and the setting item grading is not as simple and clear as before
The notification bar returns to the original specification. The first drop-down is a few commonly used shortcut buttons, and the second drop-down is all displayed. The location of shortcut buttons can be customized. However, the pull-up control bar, which is widely praised as a price, has been cancelled as a whole, and the author expresses his great sadness.
The multi task interface displays the application locking icon directly. The background lock icon was displayed only after long pressing the task card, but now it is displayed by default.
Other changes that have less impact include the addition of Don't Disturb mode details adjustment items, the addition of restart buttons, and the return of application notification pages to their original styles.

This app is the biggest difference between domestic ROMs and native systems. Garbage cleaning, traffic monitoring, harassment interception, permission management (including auto start control), and power saving management are all important tools to deal with domestic Android garbage ecology. Some parts of the new system have been cancelled, and the rest have been placed in the second and third level setting menus. I have to say that this is a real setback, and I hope the official can revive the management center as soon as possible.

The change of the desktop is the most obvious. The number of functions has increased greatly, and many of the restrictions previously adhered to have been removed. The same sentence has become very original:

In addition to calendars, cards and notes, the built-in plug-ins add contacts and common applications. The location and length of plug-ins can be customized. This is a very useful setting, and few third-party apps have similar functions.
The top 1/3 wallpaper that could not be displayed in full screen can now be displayed in full screen, but the icons are still arranged in 5 * 3, and there is no dock bar.
The desktop plug-in widget returns, and you can add desktop plug-ins anywhere.
Press and hold the blank space of the desktop to enter the desktop editing mode, where you can change wallpaper, add widgets, arrange icons, switch icons, etc. The entire UI design is very novel, but it is slightly suspicious of dazzling technology, adding some sliding operations.

Summary
From the perspective of the whole system, in addition to the changes in home page customization items, hydrogen windows and animations, which can be called progress, almost all other parts have been streamlined or even regressed to varying degrees. It is hoped that this is just the pain caused by incomplete handling of foreign oxygen OS.
It may really be transportation, but there is no problem with the smoothness and bugs of the information system, which is enough to be used as a daily system. But I have to say: The old and new versions of the system, It is more like the collision between hydrogen OS and oxygen OS, custom and original design ideas. Ironically, this time, hydrogen OS itself represents both extremes.
For one plus three users, unless you particularly like the desktop and hydrogen windows of the new system, there is no need to upgrade the hydrogen OS2.5. It is even recommended to stay in the old version, and consider upgrading after the new system has been overcorrected.
