Meizu Technology released the sixth mobile phone of Meizu mobile phone MX series - Meizu MX6 last month. At the press conference, Meizu repositioned MX. The new MX is a balanced but not mediocre dream machine. How does this new dream show? Let's have a look!  

Unpacking

The MX6 is packaged in white with a very simple style. The front adopts the hot stamping process of Meizu MX6 outline, and the MX6 model is placed on the side.  

Meizu's logo is only on the back. The detailed parameters of MX6 are on the bottom of the back. SAMPLE on the right proves that this is an engineering machine.  

The CPU of the MX6 uses the X20 of MediaTek and has ten cores, of which the maximum frequency of two large cores is 2.31 GHZ. The operation memory uses 4GB (RAM) plus 32GB (RAM), which does not support expansion. Although the 3060mAh battery capacity is not too large, it can be maintained once a day as long as it is not a heavy game player.   

The packaging box of the MX6 adopts a deployable design, which looks very interesting. The charger and typ-c data cable are in the right box.    

The MX6 charger supports Meizu's mCharge safe and fast charging. Its output power is 5V 9V 12V-2A, and the official promotion is that the charging speed is 3060mAh battery charged with the MX6 in 75 minutes, but my measured data is slightly more than the official one.  

The front of the MX6 is made of 2.5D radian glass. The screen is a 5.5 inch TDDI high-precision LCD screen provided by Sharp. What is TDDI? TDDI is the integration of touch and display drivers, which means that the touch and display functions of smart phones are independently controlled by two chips, while TDDI integrates the touch chip and display chip into a single chip. Its advantages are more sensitive, thinner and brighter.

The front panel adopts the same symmetrical design as that of Meilan note3, namely, the light distance sensor, the long earpiece and the front camera, forming a face that looks like white.  

Meizu's iconic mTouch supports fingerprint identification, Alipay payment, and even WeChat fingerprint payment. What should be noted here is that unlike Alipay, WeChat can pay with fingerprints as long as the phone has fingerprints. At present, WeChat only supports fingerprint payment of Apple system and a few Android systems.  

Meizu MX6 rear cover adopts an all metal integrated body, and the upper and lower antennas adopt a nano injection molding process. The area where the metal connects with the antenna is closely fitted, without the feeling of cutting hands. The radian of the antenna is much smaller than that of the pro6. To be honest, it is not as good as the pro6.

This time, the MX6 uses 1200w pixels in the camera. The IMX386 customized by Sony has a unit pixel area of 1.25 μ m. The aperture is f2.0, which supports phase focusing. It is not flat and slightly higher than the back cover. It is protected by a metal ring. However, it still has no optical anti shake. In fact, light anti shake is very helpful for the film yield. As for the imaging effect of the camera, how is it? We'll talk about it later.

The right side is the volume key and power key. I have said this arrangement several times. This year, we are used to it. It is a mature design.   

The sim card slot on the left side supports all netcom, blind dual card insertion and hot plug. The MX6 does not use a three in two card holder like the Magenta series, but only a card holder that can hold two sim cards.  

There is only one noise reducing microphone on the top. It seems that no manufacturer has found Meizu for infrared cooperation. Since Meizu is also planning the smart home market, infrared remote control should also be an essential project.  

The earpiece, microphone, speaker and power interface are all concentrated at the bottom. The layout is the same as that of the fruit phone. The MX6 uses the tpy-c interface.

Charging and power consumption

After the measured power consumption of MX6 reaches the automatic shutdown, it will be powered off and charged for 5 minutes, 12% for 15 minutes, 29% for 30 minutes, 52% for 45 minutes, 77% for 60 minutes, 97% for 75 minutes, 99% for 85 minutes, and 100% for 85-90 minutes. According to the data, the charging speed in the early stage is extremely fast and stable, while in the later stage, the trickle maintenance stage, the charging speed drops significantly, especially 99%~100%, which takes a long time.         

As for power consumption, after testing, 6% (98%~92%) of the power is consumed by an 8-hour standby (turn off all self starting, connect wifi, mobile telecom dual card, turn on Bluetooth, gps, and restart). This standby seems to consume a bit more power. Then use the built-in player to watch a movie (the maximum brightness is about an hour and a half), which consumes 16% (92%~76%) of the power, and about 5% (automatic brightness, 76%~71%) of the power is consumed by watching the web page for half an hour, Listening to music for about 40 minutes consumes 7% of the power (71%~64% when the screen is turned off), and playing King's Glory for about 40 minutes, consumes 14% of the power (medium brightness, 64%~55% when the balance mode is less than 30 minutes, 55%~50% when the performance mode is more than 10 minutes).  
 
After testing for more than three hours, in addition to the activities listed above, I also received three calls in the middle, which consumed 42% of the electricity. Therefore, it can last a day for moderate use. The standby power consumption needs to be optimized. From the data, the biggest killer of power consumption is the screen, which consumes about 75% of power.  

system

Meizu's flyme system is one of the best in the domestic customized systems. It has both personalization, practicality and security. Moreover, flyme system is absolutely a subtraction system. The integration of software functions is very high. If you can not use an app, you can not use an app, so the desktop looks more concise. It can be said that Meizu Flyme system has all kinds of functions, but you don't know where some functions are.   

Flyme's lock screen is relatively simple. Unlike Miui's lock screen, it can be highly customized. Flyme's lock screen can only be modified within the framework specified by Meizu. The pull-down notification bar is a style of integrating shortcut switches and notification lists into one page. The pull-down can expand 12 shortcut switches. This style has been used by Meizu until now, and many manufacturers have divided the shortcut switches and notification lists into two pages.  

Meizu also provides a relatively complete auxiliary mode. You can use three functions: gesture unlocking, language awakening, and levitation ball. Although Language Awakening allows you to say "Hello Meizu" three times, you can actually say three different words.  
Among the auxiliary functions, there are red envelope assistant, driving aid, obstacle free and other functions, which will not be shown here.

After the language wakes up, you can directly start the language assistant. You can use the language assistant to dial, send messages, search, play music, map services, etc., but if the lock screen password is set, you will not be able to normally open mobile applications, navigation, and other operations, and you need to unlock first. In addition to the language wake-up in the lock screen mode, the language assistant can also be wakened in any interface by long pressing the mback key. In general, Meizu's language assistant is very powerful and can basically meet the needs of users.         

In the display and brightness set by the flyme system, eye protection mode is provided for us. You can also set the eye protection mode to automatically turn on and off based on sunset and sunrise. In addition to eye protection mode, screen color temperature customization is also provided.  

Meizu's music, video and other applications have their own ecological chain, rather than simply borrowing other people's applications. Video supports suspension function and split screen multi task. Draw on the edge of the screen to open the task manager. Click the split screen button on the upper right corner of the application card to split the phone screen in two. Another application can be opened in the lower half of the screen to achieve split screen operation. With the floating video window, can you focus on three tasks?  

In order to facilitate people to find photos, the gallery app has designed a variety of grouping methods. On the main page, photos are grouped by week. Click the upper right corner to expand the function list, and you can select to search photos by content classification and display in the map. The function of content classification requires wifi networking, because it uses the big data of cloud space to analyze the photos taken by the camera in the mobile phone, and then classify them. Because online analysis is required, the analysis speed is not fast, and the accuracy is also lacking; Search by map is to classify according to the gps information of the photos taken. The larger the map, the more accurate the classification.  

If you bought this phone to show respect to the elders, you must use the simple mode of super large font (elderly desktop). Although Meizu's user group is young, for even 1% of the user group, Meizu still polished the simple mode of super large font very well. After enabling this mode in the settings, the desktop layout becomes a 2 × 4 square. At the same time, the phone The font of SMS and other system application pages has also been enlarged. It is very convenient for the visually impaired or the elderly.  

Flyme system also brings you an interesting collection of small tools, which is composed of flashlight, mirror, compass, level, measuring ruler and magnifying glass. The mirror is the front camera, and the magnifying glass is the digital zoom function of the rear camera. In fact, the most useful measuring ruler can be used in emergency, but it is a little short. It is also better to add protractor and other functions.  

In addition, other system applications of flyme system are deeply customized, such as yellow pages, life services, weather, information, reading, etc., all of which reflect Meizu's craftsmanship spirit. Even it has redesigned applications that seem to be of little use, such as calendars, greatly improving the usability of applications.  

Cloud services and security

It was mentioned at the launch of MX6 that Flyme's cloud service has been available since Flyme 1.0 of MX1. Over the past few years, Flyme's cloud service has three major functions: desktop cloud backup, data synchronization and cloud storage. Meizu's mobile phone search function is excellent. With the release of MX6, flyme's fingerprint recognition has made a major update - it supports WeChat fingerprint payment (currently only supported by MX6 and Magic Blue E, and will be supported by all models later). When someone borrows a mobile phone from you, but you don't want to let him see your personal privacy, just give him access to the visitor mode. The visitor mode is a parallel space, independent of the original system, but the disadvantage is that it can't run in the background. Once back to the ordinary space, the visitor mode will be completely closed~So it is not convenient to use it as a dual WeChat, At present, there is a bug. I can still make calls without enabling "Call and SMS".  

Flyme system has a powerful mobile phone butler function. Its traffic management will automatically cut off the use of traffic when your traffic exceeds the standard; Permission management not only has basic permission settings, but also can manage mutual activation; The virus detection function, after testing, I downloaded 313 virus APK sample files and killed 293, only 20 of which were not detected (of course, I don't know whether these 20 are really toxic).

This time Meizu's slogan is to meet good photos. It can be seen that Meizu MX6 is focused on taking photos, and Meizu has also customized a cmos for the MX6 to Sony - IMX386. Of course, whether the photos can be taken well or not, cmos is only one of the elements. Lens, focus, aperture and mobile software algorithm are also important. The MX6 provides 6P lens, phase focus and f2.0 aperture, So how did they perform?

In the actual shooting, I think that the white balance is accurate when the light is sufficient, but the color saturation is high, so it looks a bit gaudy. The high color saturation makes the picture look beautiful and flattering. In addition, the contrast is good, and the picture is not too gray or white, The imaging effect at the edge is slightly lower than that at the center, but it is not serious; Due to the 12 million pixels, the resolution is slightly insufficient. The 12 million pixels are already low. MX still uses an ultra wide angle lens. I think the lower the pixel, the greater the focal length should be. Although there are fewer things to shoot, it helps improve the resolution.

When shooting in a room with weak light, the white balance is accurate, and the color restoration can well show the impact of indoor light on the photographed objects. However, due to insufficient light, the exposure time is generally 1/30~1/25 seconds, and the MX6 does not have optical anti shake, so it is very important to hold stability. If you want to take portraits with a small range of motion, I recommend continuous shooting or continuous shooting, As long as your hand is steady, you can always get a useful picture~

When shooting the night scene, the mobile phone will recognize according to the ambient light, and automatically call up the night scene mode (you need to turn on automatic noise reduction for dim light, and a yellow moon appears on the shooting interface). The weaker the light, the longer the exposure time, and the higher the ISO value. The minimum exposure time is 1/17 second. When the light is extremely weak, the ISO value will be increased, so when the light is OK, the ISO value will be more than 300, The effect of the picture is good, although the dark sky still has serious noise; When the ISO value is about 1000, the night view effect is also good, but the details cannot be magnified, and the smearing is too serious; When the light is weak enough to reach the ISO level of about 2000, the noise of the picture is a little terrible~

Use professional mode to shoot macro. If the light is sufficient, the imaging effect is very good. The image sharpness is high. The aperture of F2.0 makes the background virtualization ability good, but the magnification of macro is not high. Let's see the following figure:

The maximum macro of Meizu MX6 is much weaker than that of another mobile phone using IMX258, which shows that its focusing mode set is not strong enough; High macro ability, can shoot smaller objects, and make the background more blurred. To put it simply, the maximum macro of the MX6 can take a complete petal, while the maximum macro of this phone can only take a flower (but the white balance of the IMX258 phone is too inaccurate).

The HDR mode of Meizu MX6 does not provide an automatic mode. You can only turn it on manually. There is no switch on the camera interface. You need to enter the setting list to turn it on and off. It is inconvenient to use, but the imaging effect is good. Meizu's HDR mode is composed of two photos, so I would also like to mention the optical anti shake, because there is no optical anti shake~so using the HDR mode should improve the handheld stability... If the light is sufficient, it is good, because the shooting is fast, and the shaking is worse when the light is insufficient~The night scene does not support the HDR mode, and even if the HDR mode is turned on, it will not be synthesized. As for the imaging, I personally think it is too bright, and the picture effect may be better if it is darker.  

Panorama mode

Finally, let's talk about the panoramic mode. The panoramic mode of the MX6 supports 360 ° shooting, but it has many problems. I feel that the panoramic mode needs to return to the womb and start again. Why do you say that?  
First of all, it requires the mobile phone to rotate 90 ° vertically on the ground. Do you want the mobile phone to shoot at a 45 ° angle with the ground, just shooting clouds instead of shooting the ground? NO, no, it can't operate. Even if it is 90 °, the fault tolerance rate is extremely low. If you are not careful in the process of rotation, the shooting will be interrupted. So far, only one photo (the first) of me has successfully completed the 360 ° rotation, but the final piece still has problems and can't be connected. As shown in Figure 2, the wires in the whole picture are almost piecemeal and have not been successfully spliced, and there are also obvious traces of splicing in the middle part of the magpie bridge (on the evening of August 8, two mysterious rays appeared in the eastern sky at sunset, which we call magpie bridge). In the third picture, when the wall was photographed, the shooting was automatically disconnected because it could not be spliced. Therefore, the surrounding area of the MX6 panoramic photography must be open, and the objects near the scene could not be spliced. Therefore, the experience of panoramic mode is too bad and must be rewritten.

"If you want to shoot the night scene well, professional mode is indispensable". If you want to shoot the streamer effect, you must use professional mode to shoot. First, you need to adjust the ISO to 100, and then adjust the shooting time according to the on-site environment. The night scene in professional mode uses long exposure to ensure low ISO. Low ISO makes the picture cleaner, clearer, and less noisy. The middle one is an extremely weak light demonstration. Through 20 seconds of long exposure, the scene of the late night community is well recorded. Everything visible to the naked eye is photographed, and stars invisible to the naked eye are also photographed; For shooting streamers, the exposure time can only be turned on for 2 seconds in a bright environment. In a dark environment, the exposure time can be slightly longer, as shown in the left figure. However, the traffic flow is small, and the effect is not interesting; If you want a large traffic flow and streamer effect, you'd better use it with the ND mirror, as shown in the right picture (the streamer should be taken from high places, such as on the overpass, but I don't have this condition here).

Performance and games

Meizu MX6 uses MTK's X20 processor, 4G memory+32G storage. Although this CPU is the top configuration (large core 2.31GH), Meizu's ability to lock the core is very powerful. In the balanced mode, the power of the large core CPU is locked at 1.85GH, so it will play its full role in the performance mode. The 4G memory occupies about 1.3G when it is started, and there is 2.6G of available space, which is good. Let's see how his score and game performance are.  

Meizu MX6 runs

In the performance mode, Master Lu's performance evaluation is more than 50000 points, while that of Entertainment Rabbit is more than 80000 points. Compared with this ten core X20 processor, this score is just right, which is not much different from that of machines of the same CPU model; Master Lu's experience evaluation score is 122.76, which is the highest score in the master Lu's experience evaluation, which also shows that the fluency of flyme system is very high.

Meizu MX6 game performance

While playing games, there is no problem with ordinary small games, so we will not try them. We will only try large games to experience the King's Glory and Freedom War. The frame rate of these two games is generally around 25 frames in the balanced mode, and will fall to about 20 frames in the group war. If the performance mode is turned on, the frame rate can be increased by about 3-5 frames. The experience of the NBA2K16 is a bit bad. Whether in the balanced or performance mode, it lingers in more than ten frames, which is really unpleasant to play. (The King's Glory and the War of Freedom are online games. The network speed of online games is more important than the performance of mobile phones. If their delay is more than 100, the frame drop is very serious.) Finally, I have to say that the two core CPUs are almost not involved in computing.

To be honest, the 1999 Meizu MX6 is by no means a cost-effective mobile phone, but it has a TDDI high-precision display that can be seen clearly in the strong light at noon in midsummer; Although the software still needs to be optimized, the IMX386 camera still has good expressiveness; All metal back cover and nano injection molded one size fits all antenna make the whole body very beautiful; Addictive mTouch interaction; As well as the fluent, safe and practical flmye system, it depends on whether you are willing to pay for its advantages.  
Finally, I suggest that Flyme has done a good job in the system. If you want to modify it, I suggest adding the application separation function. After all, many systems have this function now, or upgrade the visitor mode to parallel space; For the camera, I think there are still some things that need to be modified: first, because the camera is not sensitive to red, it will automatically reduce the saturation when it recognizes a red beyond the color gamut, so as to deal with the red overflow phenomenon; 2、 Automatic focusing is added in manual mode, and custom white balance is added in white balance (at present, manual mode does not automatically focus, but only manual focusing or click focusing); 3、 Add more playability, such as watermark database, composition database, delay photography, etc. 4、 Panorama mode reprogramming. 5、 Add automatic HDR.
