OSTRY and KC08

I believe that many netizens are the same as me and are not familiar with the brand OSTRY. Let me have a look at their stories first. Those who have known or are not interested can turn over this article

According to Baidu's encyclopedia and official website, the founder of OSTRY used to be a senior engineer of China's state-owned red sound equipment factory. Later, he went overseas to set up an electronics factory related to acoustics. At first, he researched and manufactured diaphragm and speaker units, and later began to make ODM and OEM products. In 2012, he launched KC06, which is a product code named "Besieged City".

The trial product is the same series of KC06 products - KC08 "Nirvana" (the relationship between the two names is really unimaginable...). I also have some guesses about the name Nirvana, which will be discussed later.

KC08 Unpacking

The products received are directly packaged in a paper box, with a sticker of igao7 on the surface (well, my colleague just saw this and asked me what it is...), and the middle is the brand logo of OSTRY.

When opened, the product packaging of KC08 is exposed. The main colors of the package are black and white. I thought the word "Nirvana" was printed on it, but later I found it was a sticker

The back is slightly rich in content, mainly printed with technical parameters and two-dimensional code to identify the authenticity (scanning will give a number, which is the same as the number printed below the two-dimensional code).

The designer is "Keven J", and the words "salute to Chinese electrophonists" are on the lower right corner, which also represents a feeling. Then the parameters are shown in the figure. What I care about is that the headphone impedance is 32 Ω.

The packaging of KC08 is designed to be pulled at both ends, and can only be opened after both sides are pulled apart.

The reflection of the plastic film on the surface is very strong, so why can we shoot it? Remove it. The objects inside are exposed. The round box on the left is the storage box of the earphone, called Rock. In the middle is the main body of the KC08 earphone, and on the right is a pair of earphones.

Take out the upper layer, and the lower layer has the product manual and another headset cover. A closer look shows that the middle part of the two earphones is different. However, the metal frame for supporting the earphone case is very interesting.

The Panshi storage box is the standard accessory of KC08 this time, and it is also sold separately on the official website. The upper and lower parts are connected by magnetic force. Ok, let's start to see the protagonist KC08. First of all, KC08 is a flat plug. At the moment when in ear style is popular, we take a flat plug as the second product to expand the market. I wonder if it is part of its idea of "Nirvana". The main structure of the earplug is made of metal and resin. The metal part forms a frame to provide strength, while the resin part reduces weight and provides coverage. Compared with ordinary plastic earplugs, they still feel very light when lifted.

KC08 uses a 16mm driver unit. The external dimension of the front of the earplug is about 17mm. There is a round slim hole on the outer disc of the unit for sound generation.

On the back is a metal frame, engraved with "KC08" and "L" and "R" on the left and right. In addition, the metal frame does not adopt a completely symmetrical structure, but a bulge is made on the forward part, which may also be for the convenience of feeling the left and right order of the headset when you can't see clearly. After all, this earphone is not equipped with remote control and Mic. I think it is a "no go" to make a earphone for pure music playing at a time when listening to music on mobile phones is a major trend. But I don't know whether this is part of "Nirvana".

KC08 is a left-right symmetrical branching design. It runs down the headphone line to the branching position. The upper part is wrapped with plastic material, while the lower part is replaced with mesh braided wire. But the meaning of BBCFLT is unknown...>_<

First of all, we need to cook the machine. I didn't choose white noise to cook the machine. I chose some commonly recommended cooking audio to cook for a while. At the same time, because of the flat head plug design, it doesn't feel too close to the head and the bass is too strong like in ear. This position controls just right. The mid tone part and the vocal part seem to be a little cold. It feels that the singing of the healing system is also a little weak, and the treble is very smooth. It may be that the low frequency will cause slight vibration. It feels that the treble part is slightly weaker when it is together with the low frequency.

Because they are flat headed earplugs, the closure is not as tight as in ear earplugs (or my earholes are too small...>_<), so the commuting environment is not suitable for KC08. It is excellent to taste quietly in the dead of night.

Several songs with different styles were selected for audition.

I have never heard of Yang Quan's "Like Two People" before, but I found it by chance this time. Unfortunately, it was only 320K MP3, but it did not affect Brain Play to make this song perfect. In fact, several songs on the whole album are very good. In the early stage of Like Two People, it seems that there is only piano accompaniment and then saxophone. The voice is beautiful, with a touch of sadness and joy.

Then change to another Maroon 5 song "Animals". Adam Levine, male lead singer, doesn't need much introduction, the mentor of the Voice of America... The falsetto is very elegant. However, the 320K Mp3 has a slight flaw in the accompaniment position, while the same FLAC (10 times larger in size...) is perfect. In addition, Adam Levine's Lost Star is also very good, which is derived from the original sound of the film Begin Again.

Then I pretended to choose a representative song of Enya - May It Be. Although it is a FLAC file, I was surprised by the playing effect in Netease Cloud Music, which is very sad... At first, the low-frequency area I was worried about performed very well. It was enough but not publicized. On the whole, it was a little cold. The workmanship is meticulous, superior, and the materials are sufficient. Titanium plating technology is also a distinctive highlight; The accessories were very considerate and included cotton padded covers and storage boxes of different styles.
