Xiaomi held a summer press conference on July 27. In addition to the Hongmi Pro, which had been previewed early, the Xiaomi notebook, which was finally launched after nearly two years of rumors, was also a very important product. Before the evaluation, let's take a look at the appearance of these two real new products.

Red Rice Pro

Red rice Pro is familiar with the front face, but with the addition of the home key of the front fingerprint identification scheme, the radian of 2.5D glass is not obvious, and the border control is OK.

There is no logo on the top. There is an LED indicator on the left side of the receiver, and the right side is the light and distance sensor and camera. The position of this camera is a bit too close to the side, so there may be a little trouble when taking a selfie.

There is a whole circle of high plastic washers around the screen, which greatly reduces the feel of 2.5D glass. The transition between the metal body and the front and back faces has CNC bright side chamfers. There are noise reducing microphone, headphone connector and infrared transmitter on the top. In addition, you can see on the light color interface that the black edge of the red rice Pro is relatively obvious.

Hongmi Pro adopts Type-C interface, which is the first Type-C interface in Hongmi series. On both sides are speakers and microphones.

The Hongmi Pro uses an all metal body and is manufactured by CNC cutting process. The back of the Hongmi Pro uses a high gloss anodizing technology+wire drawing process. With the large radian on the back, it has the taste of HTC M8 in those days. It can be said without doubt that this is the most beautiful metal back cover made by Xiaomi.

The two cameras on the back are clamped with dual color temperature flash lights. On the top is a 13 million pixel Sony IMX258 sensor, and on the bottom is a 5 million pixel Samsung sensor camera that is only responsible for recording depth of field information. Xiaomi claims that its virtual effect is comparable to the SLR camera, but the stories of HTC M8, Glory 6 Plus, Huawei P9 and other models tell us not to have too high expectations.

From the aspect of appearance, red rice still follows the old law that black is the best, white is the second, and gold is the most obvious.

Xiaomi Notebook

The appearance design of Xiaomi notebook Air is relatively square. The 13.3-inch and 12.5-inch versions have no obvious difference in appearance except for slightly different sizes. The gold version below is the 13.3 inch version, and the silver version is the 12.5 inch version.

This A-side is very suitable for pasting various protective stickers to improve the grid.

The 13.3-inch version has a large row of cooling grids at the back of the D side (the lowest side), and speaker openings at the front. In order to dissipate heat, the foot pads (especially the three at the back) are high.

Since the 12.2 inch version is core-M and does not show itself alone, the heat dissipation demand is very low, and only the speaker holes and several pads can be seen on the D side.

The only place where Xiaomi logo appears is at the bottom of the screen on side B. The black border has a good visual effect in the black interface.

Unfortunately, the thickness of the whole screen is relatively large. On the right side of the fuselage are full-size USB ports, Type-C ports and microphone openings.

The expansion angle of the screen is limited by the position of the screen itself, and the opening and closing angles are not large. This is not good news for users who like to code on their knees. In addition, the power button is integrated next to the delete key. Although the actual use of this layout has little impact, the traditional design is more pleasing.

There is no radian on the isolated island/chocolate keyboard, and the edge has a slight transition, but the up and down buttons are not very popular.
