Previously, Huawei's terminal company sued Samsung for infringement in mainland China. With the further development of the case, Huawei targeted Samsung's flagship smartphones this year, Galaxy S7 edge and S7. In May this year, Huawei sued Samsung for infringement in the United States and mainland China, including some communication technology and software patents.
Huawei Terminal said that they had purchased Samsung's Galaxy S7 edge, S7 and other mobile phones. After analysis, it was found that some of the technical features of these Samsung mobile phones correspond to all the technical features of the claims (8 in total) in the ZL201010104157.0 invention patent (Huawei's patent), and that a total of 16 Samsung smart phone products are involved in infringement.
Huawei Terminal asked the defendant to immediately stop the infringement, and Huizhou Samsung, Tianjin Samsung and Samsung Investment Company jointly and severally compensated 80 million yuan. Huizhou Samsung, Tianjin Samsung and Samsung Investment Company jointly and severally bear the reasonable expenses of 500000 yuan paid by Huawei Terminal Company to stop infringement. Huawei has collected a lot of evidence for this, and the case is still under trial.
