Not only fast, but also safe - ORICO fast charging series experience
Not only fast, but also safe - ORICO fast charging series experience

[Preface]

ORICO, a brand of Shenzhen Yuanchuang Times Technology Co., Ltd., mainly develops and produces computer digital peripheral accessories, and is committed to providing innovative and easy-to-use user experience for users of computers, digital and intelligent terminal products. ORICO products always win with quality. This time I have to say that its product update speed is even more amazing. When QC2.0 fast charging technology was not popularized, ORICO had already launched QC3.0 fast charging products. The ORICO quick charging kit for this trial includes ORICO desktop QC2.0 charger and ORICO mobile power supply QC2.0 Fast charging version and ORICO QC3.0 Car Charger.

[ORICO desktop QC2.0 charger]

ORICO desktop QC2.0 charger adopts the design of separating the body from the power cord. The body is made of frosted plastic in black and gray, which is low-key and textured.

The back of the fuselage is printed with product parameter information. The 100-240V wide voltage input design makes it more international. The output has one QC2.0 fast charging port and four 5V 2.4A smart charging ports. The total output is up to 8A 40W.

The top of the machine body is a power interface, which can extend 1.2 meters when plugged in. This design is convenient for charging and carrying.

There are five USB charging ports at the bottom of the body, of which the green USB port is a fast charging port supporting QC2.0, and the rest are 5V 2.4A charging ports.

First, use Huawei P8, which does not support fast charging, to conduct a charging test. Use Huawei P8's own charger to charge. The ammeter shows that the charging output is 5.02V 1.04A, while the ORICO desktop QC2.0 charger's charging output is 4.99V 1.68A. Compared with Huawei P8's own 5V 1A charger, there is a current gap of 0.64A, That is to say, the charging speed of ORICO desktop QC2.0 charger is about one-third faster than that of Huawei P8 charger.

Switch the USB discharge loader to 1A/2A current, and the ammeter and voltmeter display 4.98V 0.95A and 4.83V 1.84A respectively. It can be seen that ORICO desktop QC2.0 charger supports intelligent automatic recognition of charging.

A brand of mobile power supply that supports QC2.0 charging input is used for charging test. The ammeter shows that the charging output is 8.67V 1.61A. At this speed, it only takes 5.5 hours to fully charge the mobile power supply with a capacity of 15000mAh, while it takes 9.5 hours to charge the mobile power supply with an ordinary 5.0V 2.0A power adapter, The fast charging speed of RICO desktop QC2.0 charger is about 60% faster than that of ordinary charging.

It takes 1 hour and 40 minutes to charge Huawei P8 from zero to full with ORICO desktop QC2.0 charger, while it takes nearly 3 hours to full with Huawei P8 original charger (output 5V 1A). When the phone is fully charged to 100%, the input of ORICO desktop QC2.0 charger is only about 4.99V 0.02A. This data also shows that ORICO has an intelligent automatic recognition function, and there is no need to worry about the impact of overshoot on charging equipment.

[ORICO mobile power fast charging version]

ORICO mobile power quick charging version adopts dark gray aluminum alloy integrated shell. What I want to say is that besides the color, the overall design of this mobile power is too similar to Xiaomi mobile power.

The bottom of the product is printed with its detailed parameter information. The capacity of four 18650 battery packs is 10400mAh, and the maximum support is 5V2.1A charging input; The output terminal can automatically identify three different charging output modes: 5V 2.1A, 9V 1.8A and 12V 1.35A. It is a pity that the mobile power supply does not support QC2.0 in charge input.

From left to right on the top of the product are the round power button, the blue led power indicator, the charging input interface and the output interface, which are basically the same as the Xiaomi mobile power supply.

Connect the USB discharge loader to the mobile power supply and switch to 1A/2A current respectively. The ammeter and voltmeter display 4.94V 0.93A and 4.82V 1.84A.

Huawei P8, which does not support QC2.0, is used for mobile power charging test. The ammeter shows that the charging output is 4.87V 1.42A, 0.26A less than the current of ORICO desktop QC2.0 charger, but still 0.38A higher than the original Huawei P8 charger.

A brand of mobile power supply supporting QC2.0 charging input is used for charging test, and the ammeter shows that the charging output is 8.77V 1.61A. This data is enough to show that the quick charging version of ORICO mobile power supply is conducting QC2.0 fast charging.

[ORICO QC3.0 Mobile Charger]

ORICO QC3.0 car charger is designed with black high-strength PC+ABS flame retardant plastic, simple and fashionable.

The back of the fuselage is printed with a clear QC3.0 logo, indicating that it supports the latest Qualcomm QC3.0 fast charging technology.

There are three charging interfaces on the top of the fuselage, namely, the QC3.0 fast charging interface supporting 12V/9V, the 5V 2.4A charging interface and the 5V 1A charging interface, which can fully meet the charging needs of different devices.

The metal positive and negative contacts of the cigarette lighter plug at the bottom of the fuselage are full of elasticity, and the workmanship is solid and fine.

The mobile power supply supporting QC2.0 charging input is used for charging test. The ammeter shows that the charging output is 9.01V 1.65A, which is basically the same as the output power of the charger and mobile power supply tested previously.

Because the author does not have a digital device that supports QC3.0, the QC3.0 test cannot be performed. According to the introduction of Qualcomm's official QC3.0, compared with the traditional charging technology, QC3.0's charging speed is about 4 times that of the traditional charging technology, which can increase the battery power by 71% in about 30 minutes. At the same time, QC3.0 has adopted "voltage intelligent negotiation" (INOV) for the first time Algorithm: According to the power state of the mobile phone, the charging voltage is set at 200mV increments, providing flexible selection from 3.6V-12V voltage. Compared with QC2.0, the charging efficiency and heating condition are significantly improved.

Summary

In general, ORICO fast charging series can basically meet the charging needs of users in home/office, going out and driving situations. These three fast charging products have greatly improved the user's charging experience by virtue of excellent workmanship, advanced QC2.0 3.0 technology, and safe overcharge prevention identification. However, there are also some shortcomings:

1. The appearance design is not outstanding enough, and the mobile power has collided with Xiaomi;

2. There is only one USB output interface of the mobile power supply, and multiple devices cannot be charged at the same time;

3. The power input of the mobile power supply does not support fast charging technology.
