Photo experience

  • Focusing speed: among the seven flagship machines, one plus two, G5 and P9 have no phase focusing (which is an important reason why they are equipped with laser focusing), and the speed is slightly slow. Other machines have phase focusing, which is faster. Among them, S7 edge is the most exaggerated. It is almost impossible to detect the focusing process. There is no obvious process of pulling the bellows like other machines under extremely weak light.

  • Shutter response&imaging speed&film rate: except G5, other machines are relatively fast, which is the main reason why G5 photography experience is criticized; In terms of yield, P9 has no optical anti shake. Even though the safety shutter speed is faster, the film yield is still slightly lower than other machines, and other machines have not opened a big gap;

  • HDR/night view mode processor speed: After G5 triggers HDR or night view mode, the shutter response speed will decrease. Huawei P9 and Xiaomi 5 perform slightly better, and the shutter response of other machines is almost unaffected. However, when you view the photos immediately after taking photos, you can generally find that the mobile phone is actually processing samples in the background.

In addition, the HDR usability of Xiaomi 5 is too low, which may lead to problems such as too bright hair color, obvious deviation of white balance, and poor discrimination. Therefore, it is not recommended to turn on this function.

Algorithm is the core field of photography. Excellent parts cannot be piled up alone. Xiaomi 5 is a typical machine that does not exert all the strength of hardware. Huawei's white balance and color tuning also performed well, but perhaps because of its model positioning (Leica filter?) Huawei P9 performs well, but there is still room for improvement.

When One Plus Two just came into the market, we made a review. At that time, the completion of hydrogen OS was still very low, and even the use experience of preview after taking pictures was not good. The problem of HDR algorithm could even be compared with that of Xiaomi. But by the time of One Plus Three, the system and camera tuning had made significant progress and had surpassed P9.
