The first impression of this camera may be the more personalized filter part, which is more conspicuous. The housing and base that come with the package can be used with accessories such as tripod and self timer.

However, there was a problem that the lower bracket could not stably fix the camera at a certain angle, because there was a certain gap between the plastic shell and the metal sheet that did not fit together closely, so we had to find ways to pad something to reinforce it, otherwise it would swing around and cannot be used normally, and the workmanship needs further improvement.

This plastic shell is an add-on for fixed cameras and devices such as selfie sticks. In contrast, it would be more practical to send a bracket that can be fixed on a bicycle. However, the bracket and waterproof shell for bicycles need to be purchased from the official.

The filter included with the device is a 52mm UV filter, which can be replaced by yourself. UV mirror is also a common UV filter, namely UltraViolet. One is to protect the lens coating, and the other is to reduce the blue tone caused by ultraviolet radiation. If you can buy a lens, it may also be a good way to play it as a micro bill.

It looks like a digital camera from the front. First of all, it should be emphasized that the fuselage is made of metal rather than plastic, which is thick and solid. However, the fuselage is not designed with heat dissipation holes, which can only dissipate heat through the fuselage, and also has a certain impact on heat dissipation.

VIDIT is much smaller in size than Xiaomi sports camera. Although the color is not as bright as Xiaomi's, this low-key gray metallic material looks calm.

There is a TF slot on the left side of the fuselage, with a Samsung EVO 16G TF card. The capacity and read/write speed are enough for video recording, but the slot is not sealed with a barrier. In rainy days, it will be troublesome if there is no waterproof case.

On the other side of the fuselage are two interfaces. One is a micro USB interface for charging and data transmission, which can be used with PC software to copy video files; The other interface is the Micro HDMI interface, which can directly output video to the display, but it is not practical for personal use, because the TF is directly unplugged and connected to the TV or computer to watch.

For individuals, the most important thing is that the device has an LED display screen, which is very important, rather than the Xiaomi sports camera, which must be paired with a mobile phone to view the current status. The four buttons on the right are protected by outer membrane, which is mainly used for waterproofing.

The USB power cable in the package is special. It is not the transparent noodle design, but its fragrance.

There are two kinds of WiFi settings for VIDIT. One is AP mode, in which the mobile phone APP needs to connect; The other is the common client CLT mode, which can connect to the Internet WiFi. If you want to save power and record for a longer period of time, you'd better turn it off directly. Although there is Bluetooth, no device is found on the mobile phone, and no relevant options have been found in the settings.

The advantage of having a screen is that you can see the current use status intuitively. You don't need to rely solely on your mobile phone, so it will be convenient to use it outdoors.  

The app corresponding to VIDIT is called Pailai Paiqu. You can set or capture some scenes on the APP, or view the video resources in the TF card. However, the problem is that there is no firmware upgrade option, so upgrading the firmware is a little troublesome

Focus on its video recording function. The recorded video format is slightly strange, because the recorded video is directly in TS format, which is different from the common MP4 format or avi format.

By default, the maximum recording time of the movie is 2 minutes, and then automatically save and continue to record the next video. There is no problem in the connection, no seconds are missed, and the bit rate can basically reach 30 fps.

The following figure is from the screenshot of the recorded film. The date, time, longitude, latitude and speed are available, but the speed is not accurate.

Compared with the Xiaomi sports camera, the advantages of the VIDIT camera are its metal body, screen, and filter support. It can record video for about 20 minutes continuously (related to the ambient temperature). However, the temperature control is somewhat poor, and the body will be seriously heated, which also affects the endurance to some extent. Although the free shell provided is good and can also be used with equipment such as self timer bar and tripod, the process still needs to be improved. In addition to being a motion camera and video camera, it is also a good choice to be a driving recorder, which can control the visual angle and distortion. The price of 1299 is a little high, and the price of GoPro HERO4 session is only about 1600.
