Glory released its first high-end V series product, V8, on May 10. The high-end version is equipped with a 2K screen, which is also the first 2K screen phone of Huawei (including Glory). We also got the product at the first time:
Glory V8 adopts a special black package with grid lines on the outer layer.
Pulling out the inner layer of the package, we can see that the overall structure is relatively complex, while the mobile phone is inserted horizontally in the inner layer of the package and wrapped with frosted protective film.
The inner layer of the package has a course of changing the outer package into VR glasses. The packaging of Glory V8 is also the cheapest way to realize VR glasses. However, it is not very convenient in terms of installation, and the effect is average, but we can't ask too much for free products.
There is obvious VR glasses logo on the inner layer of the package.
There are a lot of accessories in the package, but they are mainly small accessories that make the package "transform" into VR glasses. Conventional accessories include fast charging power adapter (up to 9V 2A), USB Type-C data cable and card pin.
The front of Glory V8 is simple. We got champagne gold, and the front panel is also gold. It is designed with virtual keys, and there is a brand logo below. In addition, we can see that the screen border is well controlled. The high configuration version also uses a 5.7-inch 2560 * 1440 screen, which is the highest of all products of Glory and even Huawei. The screen even crushes Huawei P9 and Mate8.
The front panel adopts 2.5D glass, which can enhance a certain edge touch.
The back adopts a metal back cover, sandblasting process, and post press fingerprint recognition, giving a first impression that it is somewhat similar to the Nexus 6P.
The back has a certain radian, which will fit the palm more when held. However, the frame design is too stiff, and it will feel a little kowtow.
The rear camera is the same as P9 in configuration, with dual 12 million pixels, 1.25 μ m pixel size, F2.2 aperture, dual color temperature LED fill light, and laser assisted focusing module. However, there is no Leica logo on the right side of the camera, so I always think there is something missing.
There are infrared sensors, noise reducing microphones and a 3.5mm headphone connector on the top of the fuselage.
There is a USB Type-C connector in the middle of the bottom. The left hole is a microphone, and the right is a speaker. Interestingly, when we use the phone in the horizontal screen, Glory V8 will also use the earpiece as a speaker (the speaker at the bottom of the body will also sound at the same time) to achieve the effect of "surround sound", but the volume of the earpiece is significantly smaller than the bottom speaker, and the sound quality is poor, It seems unbalanced.
There are volume keys, power keys and Zhiling keys on the right side of the fuselage. The power key adopts concentric circles. Zhiling keys can set shortcuts for different functions. The design of this key also continues the characteristics of the previous generation of products of Glory.
The left side of the fuselage is the card slot.
Glory V8 supports dual cards and dual standby, of which the version of 2499 yuan and 2799 yuan is all Netcom, card 1 supports a nano SIM, and card 2 supports the expansion of a nano SIM or TF card.
From the perspective of grip, the Glory V8 is standard among phones of the same size. The phone itself has many highlights in configuration, camera, endurance and other aspects. More in-depth experience can focus on our subsequent evaluation and introduction.
