Brad Wardell, CEO of Stardock, revealed in an exclusive interview with GamesBeat that the company will introduce new technologies to enable users to "fight" between Nvidia and AMD graphics cards on their own computers, and intends to completely change the entire PC graphics card market.
This technology is based on Direct X 12. It does not need to purchase a specific video card for operation like AMD Firefight or NVIDIA SLI. As long as the required video card is inserted into the PCIe interface, the combination of different video cards can be achieved. Stardock plans to announce the technology with Microsoft at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco this week.
The final name of this technology has not yet been determined, but Wardell said that there will definitely be a cool name on the market. After the introduction of this technology, both consumers and video card manufacturers will have their own interests, and even motherboard manufacturers will have the benefits they can obtain.
Of course, Nvidia and AMD, the two good base friends, are definitely not happy with this technology, so Stardock has discussed cooperation for a year. Although the share of high-end graphics cards may be reduced as a result, the sales of corresponding low-end graphics cards may be more, so it reluctantly accepted. Wardell said that "this will change the game rules of the whole market".
