Smart wearable devices have attracted more and more attention. For smart watches, the endurance has always been a pain point. Qualcomm also released Snapdragon 2100 (Snapdragon Wear 2100, hereinafter referred to as Snapdragon 2100) on the same day as the launch of Snapdragon 625, which is a chip dedicated to smart watches.
Snapdragon 2100 provides a complete solution of Bluetooth, WiFi and LTE network for smart watches. It is a deeply customized SoC, instead of putting the mobile phone SoC on smart watches with minor modifications. Compared with the previous generation of smart watch processor, the Snapdragon 2100 is 30% smaller in size and saves 25% electricity. Snapdragon 2100 uses 800MHz four core Cortex-A7 CPU, Adreno 304 graphics processor, 28nm process, built-in X5 LTE baseband, supports 802.11n and Bluetooth 4.1, and also adds Qualcomm's unique skill - QuickCharge 2.0 fast charge. The future smart watch may also enter the era of fast charge. It can be seen from this new platform that Qualcomm hopes to bring better use experience through more power saving and shorter charging speed before the qualitative change of battery technology.
