Intelligent routing is a hot selling product in the past two years, and many new brands have joined in. It seems that they want to hold the entrance of the intelligent home control center, but the reality is cruel. The concept of intelligent routing is very good, with many functions, but its practicability is not strong, and its performance is not stable. After playing, knowledgeable users still choose traditional and old routes, Many brands have also been eliminated. Bihu Intelligent Also officially launched in October last year, the performance of this emerging product needs a comprehensive experience.

  Product appearance and design

The outer package can be said to be simple to the extreme. The whole body is white without any words, only two tiger head logos with glittering gold on the side.

The Apple style packaging design has always been an aversion to me, because it is difficult to uncover it. When there are heavy things in it, it can be thrown away. It's hard to open the empty box. I don't know why it's all like this. The important thing is quality, not packaging. Every time I see such packaging, I can't help complaining 。

There are words on the bottom of the box, and the product information and parameters are listed above, so that users can have a preliminary understanding.

Currently, only routers and power supplies are available for routing, and network cables are omitted. Bihoo router does a good job. In addition to the router, it has a power adapter, two network cables, and a user manual.

The user manual is generally unavailable to routing users. It is still needed for Xiaobai's convenience, although the operation steps are simple.

The power adapter is very large, larger than the general adapter, which is a test for the general socket.

What is the reason for this design? The original power supply mode of Bihoo Route is POE, that is, Ethernet power supply. The adapter is not only a power connection, but also a WAN port. It transplanted the WAN on the route to the adapter, and its power interface is also a RJ45 universal interface, which is very special. The power output combines the power and network output.

Bihoo Routing provides two wires, blue and gold connectors. In fact, they are universal. One is used as the power cable and the other as the network cable.

The crystal head of the wiring is wrapped in gold, which is more durable than the ordinary crystal head, and the wire material is also thicker, providing guarantee for the reliable use of the route.

There are power interface and LAN interface on the main route, all of which are metal clad ports, which can resist interference. Unfortunately, it is a 100M port, and the reset key is in the middle.

Bihoo Routing also provides a USB interface, which is for external storage media. Unfortunately, USB2.0. If USB3.0 can be put in place in one step, it will be convenient to prepare for future NAS.

The bottom of Bihoo Route is also an aluminum magnesium alloy shell, with a ring of rubber pads to ensure stable and anti-skid placement.

Bihoo Route has built-in permanent magnets that can be attached to any gold surface, such as refrigerators and iron doors. Its starting point can be placed freely, but there is no metal surface where it needs to be placed at home. Who will attach it to the refrigerator in the kitchen.

The wiring is very simple, and the name of the interface on the installation equipment can be matched, so the network cable can be connected and replaced easily.

Routing settings and applications

The current intelligent routes are all focused on simplifying the configuration and making it easy for users to set up quickly. Bihoo Routing is no exception.

Bihoo routing is more convenient to configure with mobile phones than with PCs. Connecting to Bihoo's WiFi will automatically jump to the configuration interface.

Enter the broadband account and password, and set the wireless network password. It's just a two step process.

Bihoo has a dedicated APP. Let's take a look. The interface design is very simple and the color is pleasing to the eye. The main functions can be seen directly on the main interface, mainly including terminal management, network speed test, signal strength, and routing settings. The top is the network speed, and the drop-down can see the traffic of yesterday and today. If we bind a mobile account, we can remotely manage Bihoo Routing.

Terminal management can limit the speed and blackout control of each online user, and no longer be afraid of others' network scraping.

The signal strength can be adjusted according to the size of the family. There are three levels of strength. The network speed measurement is purely for reference, and there are many factors to consider when comparing the network speed.

Bihoo Routing also provides an intelligent plug-in, which is also a universal must kill technique for intelligent routing. However, the plug-in of Bihoo Routing is not very useful, nor is it necessary for us.

U Disk storage is needed by many people. You can see the contents of the attached USB flash drive on the APP, but you cannot upload them. The solution is to install the ES file browser and configure the network server. Bihoo provides U disk storage, but does not provide NAS service and Xunlei remote download function, so it loses practical value.

Now let's go back to the PC and see the functions on the PC. After entering, however, I was disappointed. There was basically nothing operable, and I didn't see the common functions of routing. Maybe it was because Bihoo wanted to get rid of the PC side operation, but I needed wireless relay, DMZ, UPnp and other functions.

Smart plug-in function can not be realized on PC.

Signal test

Test environment: The area of the author's home is about 140 square meters. Point O is the placement point of the route; Point A is the first test point, separated from the route by a wall, about 5m from point O; Point B is the second test point, separated from the route by a wall, about 10m from point O; Point C is the third test point, separated from the route by two walls, about 13m from point O; Point D is the fourth test point, about 10m away from point O, separated from point A by two walls; Point E is the fifth test point, about 20m away from point O, separated by two walls from point O.

Test method: at five test points, test the signal strength and wireless wall penetration capability of Bihoo's route wireless coverage through WirelessMon professional software.

Bihoo has only 2.4G signals, but no 5G signals. After testing at various points, Bihoo performs well in wireless signal strength, and its signal coverage can reach every corner of the family. 2.4Ghz is in the leading position in comparison with Xiaomi route, and has a small decay after passing through the wall. It is believed that the use environment of this route can at least meet the needs of most family users.

Firmware update

After the previous test, although the signal coverage and strength are still satisfactory, we are disappointed in the routing function. Fortunately, it can upgrade its firmware. The author immediately brushed the firmware AP106P06V1.3 of Bihoo Routing Engineer to see if there were any surprises.

Surprisingly, the engineer firmware has such functions as wireless AP, wireless bridge and wireless relay.

Because of the space, this is just a brief presentation of the interface, not too much introduction.

The DMZ and UPnP commonly used for routing are also available here and can be set. Only such routes can be called routes.

With the change of Bihu Routing, DNM was opened, and the author's moneybags speed rose.

  Summary and suggestions

The smart wireless routing of Bihoo is fashionable in appearance design, and the POE technology is also different. It has excellent signal strength, but lacks basic functions. It seems that it is not wise to rush to the market before it is mature. Although the engineer firmware version is powerful, after all, ordinary users will not use it. They hope to incorporate powerful functions into basic functions for management, and provide remote download, 5G signal, gigabit network interface and other functions, so as to provide us with more practical applications.
