The company, called Emotient, uses AI to analyze facial expressions to identify users' emotions. The Wall Street Journal said that the acquisition was confirmed by Apple, but did not disclose more details.

Not long ago, Apple bought a similar company, Faceshift. Faceshift is a virtual reality startup company located in Zurich.
