Fight fiercely! Horizontal review of DxO One/QX100/LG V10/iPhone 6s camera

DxO One is an external lens launched by DxO Company for the iPhone with Lightning interface. At the same time, DxO Company is best known for its DxO Mark camera evaluation website and DxO graphics processing software. DxO One adopts 20 million pixels, 1-inch CMOS, aperture f/11~f/1.8, equivalent focal length 32mm, and no optical anti shake. In terms of hardware parameters, except for no optical anti shake, it is significantly ahead of other mobile phones. What about its actual effect?

This comparison includes the QX100, which is also an external camera, the LG V10, the pinnacle of Android phone photography, and the popular iPhone 6s. As two external cameras, QX100 and DxO One have similar parameters.

appearance

The outer package of DxO One is very simple, just like the smart phone package on the market today. After opening the package, we can see a DxO One camera body, a DxO charging head, a data cable and a user guide.

The overall shape of the DxO One is quite tough. It uses silver and black mixed colors. The silver part is metal paint. Although the body is made of plastic, the hand feel and weight are not too obtrusive. It is a small and exquisite type of external camera products.

The lens protection cover of the DxO One is a sliding type, and there is a small OLED secondary screen on the back. The secondary screen displays very little information, only the power, shooting mode, film format, etc. Below the secondary screen are Micro USB interface and Micro SD card slot.

Compared with QX100, DxO does have great advantages in volume. For example, we can even put it in a small pocket. When we use it, we just need to plug it into the lighting interface of the iPhone. The QX100 is not only larger in size and cannot be put into a pocket, but also connected to the mobile phone through NFC/Wi Fi, making the operation more complicated. Although the portability/ease of use of the DxO is indeed much better than that of the QX100, it also sacrifices the optical zoom. The QX100 supports 3.6x optical zoom, which is the main difference between the two.

DxO realizes "plug and play" through the Lighting interface. After inserting the mobile phone, it can rotate counterclockwise by 45 ° through the rotating shaft. It can be inserted in both the front and back directions without fear of wrong insertion. The reverse insertion can also be used as a self timer.

The charging head specification of DxO One is 5V/1A, and the charging is slow.

DxO tutorial

Multiple shooting modes are available, and you can view photo information in the DxO camera

When we insert the DxO One into the iPhone, the iPhone will display a pop-up prompt to download the official DxO software from the App Store. After downloading, open the DxO software, and it will have a simple DxO tutorial. After entering the software, the use of DxO is very simple, as we usually take photos with Android phones, but as an external camera, it has more functions than iPhone. For example, in M gear (manual mode), it can adjust ISO, aperture and shutter, The ISO can be up to 12800, the shutter can be at least 15 seconds slow, and the aperture can be at most f/1.8. In addition, the photos taken can be saved in the Micro SD card of the mobile phone/DxO One. If the RAW/Super RAW sample is taken, it will be stored in the Micro SD card of the DxO One by default.

Since the DxO One itself does not give a Micro SD card, and the DxO One without a Micro SD card can not take photos, and if a slow Micro SD card is inserted, the use experience of the DxO One will be greatly affected, so we must prepare a high-speed Micro SD card.

During the use, the shooting speed of the DxO One is very fast, almost the same as that of the iPhone itself, while the shooting speed of the QX100 is very slow, which greatly affects the user experience.

Because it was cloudy at that time and it was near the evening, although it was outdoors, the light was still not sufficient. In the first group of daytime samples, the white balance performance of the four devices is close. After 100% magnification of the original image, we can see that the performance of the QX100 and DxO One with a 1-inch bottom and 20 million pixels is significantly better than that of the iPhone 6s and LG V10, especially the QX100, which not only has obvious advantages over the other three in analytical power, but also has higher purity of the image.

In the second group of samples, we directly compared 100% of the original images. The four devices can clearly display the fonts on the remote construction site, and they can fully display the details of the construction site in the original scene. Compared with the iPhone 6s, the DxO One, QX100, and LG V10 have the advantage of higher pixels.

In the third group of samples, the white balance performance: LG V10>QX100>iPhone 6s>DxO One four devices can clearly display the light conditions in the photographed building, of which DxO One has the lowest exposure, QX100 has the highest exposure, DxO One and QX100 have more dark details, and noise is less than iPhone 6s and LG V10.

Shooting climate: cloudy and light rain, outdoor 11 ℃

In the fourth group of samples, there was a problem with the white balance of DxO One, and the overall white balance was warm. The actual situation was that it was raining, and the white balance was shown as follows: QX100>LG V10>iPhone 6s>DxO One。 When the four devices displayed the remote signs, their analytical power declined significantly. The QX100's image was more pure through smearing, but the font was not sharpened enough. The LG V10's font was sharpened, but the overall image was too sharpened. The worst scene in this group was DxO One.

In the fifth group of samples, the anti halo performance of the four devices is similar, and the white balance performance is, iPhone 6s>LG V10>QX100>DxO One, In terms of font resolution, QX100>iPhone 6s>DxO One>LG V10。 However, we noticed that the font "Double Eleven Product Special Bag" on the roll out of the samples of DxO One and iPhone 6s has become white, which should be yellow.

In addition, we also tried DxO's Super RAW output in this set of scenes. Compared with ordinary RAW, the performance of the two is similar.

In the sixth group of samples, the white balance performance of LG V10>QX100>iPhone 6s>DxO One, DxO One, in this scene, the white balance deviates from the norm. The original red roll up background is displayed as orange in the DxO One, while the QX100 has a great advantage over the other three machines in terms of resolution and purity.

Note: LG V10 triggers night view mode

In the seventh group of samples, the white balance performance is different in the color display of the building because the building's light emission changes with time. In this group of ultra weak light, the iPhone 6s and the DxO One without optical anti shake are obviously weak, especially the iPhone 6s' resolution is seriously reduced, and the noise is the most, The performance of DxO One is also average, while LG V10 and QX100 have obvious advantages.

summary

From the performance of the proof, the QX100 has obvious advantages over the other three devices in picture quality, but as a portable plug-in camera, the portability and usability of the QX100 is far from that of the DxO One. First of all, compared with the DxO One, the QX100 is too heavy and bulky to fit in the pocket, and it is really slow. For example, the QX100 is connected to the mobile phone through Wi Fi, and its transmission rate is very slow, so the speed of shooting and transferring photos to the mobile phone album is very slow, and the shooting is very different from the sample after shooting. Although the picture quality is good, the experience is too poor.

Although the image quality of DxO One is worse than that of QX100, its use experience is much better than that of QX100. It is lighter and more portable. Plug and play through the Lighting interface, the view taking is almost the same as that of mobile phones, and the photo transmission is also much faster than that of QX100. However, its sample advantages are not obvious, and it is not as good as LG V10 in some scenarios. The most serious problem of the DxO One is not the picture quality, but its endurance. It took about one hour to shoot when it was fully charged, and less than 20 samples were taken, leaving only 50% of the power.

The price of Meiya of DxO One is 549 dollars (about 3600 yuan), which is still slightly higher, the picture quality is not as expected, and the endurance is poor, so it is not recommended to buy it. However, if you believe that you still want to buy it, our website Lei Feng This product has also been put on the shelves, so friends with faith can go to learn about it.
