Samsung plans to invest $7.4 billion to pave the way for iPhone OLED

According to South Korean media ET News, Samsung Display has finalized its plan to invest 7.4 billion dollars in the production equipment of curved OLED display used by Apple.

The media in South Korea reported that Apple's products will shift from LTPS TFT LCD to OLED, and Apple will use this curved OLED panel for future iPhones. Samsung Display Company will expand its production capacity to 30000 to 45000 substrates in 2016 and 45000 substrates in 2017, and this investment will be phased in the next two years. In addition to HB Technology, these production and test equipment will mainly come from AP Systems.
