Microsoft recently said that it is planning to launch a worldwide recall of the adapter charging cable of the Surface Pro. The recall involves the previous three generations of Surface Pro series tablets, that is, the AC charging cable matched with the Surface Pro/Pro 2/Pro 3 sold before July 2015 will be recalled and replaced.
Recently, foreign media confirmed from Microsoft speakers that: "If the cable is wound too tight, twisted or stretched for a long time, it is very likely to cause serious damage to the AC power charging cable. Few Surface Pro users have reported and fed back this problem. We will release specific update details later, and consumers can replace the new charging cable for free in the near future."
Microsoft spokesman also said that Microsoft's official recall page will be launched in the near future, but did not disclose the exact time. According to some foreign media reports, some users did say that the cable might overheat when it was obviously twisted or repeatedly folded, and Microsoft plans to implement a recall on January 22.
