Google Lenovo remarries with CES to push Project Tango

Do you still remember the Project Tango launched by Google in 2014? It is reported that on the 7th of this month, Google will jointly launch the Project Tango device with Lenovo.

Project Tango aims to equip smart phones or tablet devices with dual cameras and sensors so that they can easily draw 3D maps of the interior.

Recently, Google and Lenovo jointly released a trailer of the project, and we can see the true face of Project Tango on CES this month. "Mobile devices should also assume the responsibility of 'guiding' the world, which is the goal of Project Tango", said the narrator in the trailer. It is expected that Lenovo will release a device equipped with Project Tango technology at the exhibition.

Last year Google released the Project Tango development kit for a tablet device. The tablet responsible for running the kit is equipped with NVIDIA's quad core Tegra K1 SoC and Kepler GPU, with 4GB RAM and 128GB ROM respectively. In addition, the device is equipped with a 7-inch 1080p screen. However, due to the high price of 1024 US dollars, only 4000 sets of the equipment were produced experimentally.

In terms of smart phones equipped with Project Tango, Google has only experimentally produced 200. The device is equipped with a rear lens of 4 million pixel fishglasses with a 180 degree angle of view, and the front camera has a 120 degree angle of view, which can take photos with a resolution of 180 x 320.
