Foreword - Putting the Problem Away

Before taking part in the trial activity of the flying wisdom black samurai X9ET, I had already started the black samurai X9 (the first generation of flying wisdom black samurai products that need receivers). If you just look at the X9 from the perspective of a home game console, I think it is qualified - it has a good feel, no delay in keys, a sense of play (although I'm not a fan), and a very convenient empty mouse function. However, I found in practical applications that the X9 platform switching is not so comfortable. My X9 is usually used on the enhanced version of Xiaomi Box, which is placed in the TV cabinet. Several times I wanted to use X9 to play mobile games or computer games, but each time I could successfully give up the idea because:

1. The X9 receiver will occupy the phone's charging port, or the only USB port of my Surface Pro computer

2. The receiver looks small and fragile. I'm afraid it will be lost or damaged if I take it out carelessly

3. The millet box often uses X9, and I really don't want to put my hand into the TV cabinet to plug in this small receiver

This time, I will try out the X9ET of the Flying Wisdom Black Warrior without a receiver. I hope to know:

1. Whether the touch, key feedback and operation experience are consistent with X9

2. Whether it is compatible with my game model and can be switched quickly and easily (the model I use to play the game is Win8.1 Surface Pro , Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 Tablet and Xiaomi Box Plus ）

3. Operation experience on preferred games. I am a post-80s ordinary mild player. This trial game involves: PSP simulator (PPSSPP), chicken simulator, FIFA， Modern war 3, 4, 5, etc

Packaging - reliable

I don't care about the appearance of the package. I think as long as the internal design can protect the handle during transportation, others don't need to be too fancy - it is also to save unnecessary costs for consumers. Obviously, Feizhi has done this.

Because I am now abroad, the handle was brought back by a friend. For the convenience of taking it back, the packing box is removed and left in China, so there is no picture and no truth, just save the ink for other content. If you need, please refer to other evaluations and Baidu.

Out of the box experience - regular

In addition to the handle, my friend also brought me the manual, warranty card, and mobile phone holder. I marvel at the carefulness of Feizhi and Lei Feng. The mobile phone bracket can solve the problem that there is no place to put mobile phones on the bus and subway. Mobile entertainment is more convenient.

The content of the manual is relatively simple, because the operation itself is also very easy. The main thing is to press the Logo key for a long time to flash the backlight into the pairing mode, and then search for Bluetooth devices on the mobile phone or computer side to pair them. Here I have a suggestion for Feizhi. If we can make the manual pdf file like IKEA and put it on the official website for downloading at any time, it will be very convenient for users who have lost the manual. The first time I brought X9ET home, I forgot to bring the manual. As a result, I didn't know how to switch X9ET to pairing with Xiaomi Box when it was already paired with Surface Pro. It was such a simple operation. Baidu didn't find the relevant introduction for a long time, and it took me a long time to solve it. Here are some photos of the manual, hoping to help some friends in need.

Appearance and feel

X9ET is the same as X9. It is a layout of XBOX game controller. When I first started, I felt a little light. After installing two No. 5 batteries, the weight was just right for me. The surface treatment in the middle is high gloss mirror surface, and the main part is frosted texture, so the overall appearance is generous and decent. From the perspective of hardware research and development, the mold and structure design of this product are not bad. I thought that someone commented that the black samurai X9 mold was rotten and cut hands seriously on the Internet before I bought the X9, so I can only sigh with regret that everyone has their own hands.

The black samurai X9ET should be exactly the same as the X9 mold. The slight difference in appearance is mainly in the color of the bottom of the rocker (X9ET is blue, X9 is black) and the backlight color of the LOGO key (X9ET is white, X9 is blue). In the following figure, the left is the black samurai X9, the middle is the black samurai X9ET, and the right is the PS3 game controller DUALSHOCK 3. The surface treatment of the Black Samurai series of Feizhi is more frosty, and the surface of the PS3 handle is more smooth, so it will not slip during control. The X9ET has a good sense of control, slightly larger than the PS3 handle, but does not affect the operating comfort. In terms of keys, X9ET has moderate key stroke, moderate feedback and sensitive rocker, which is enough to meet my application needs. To compare with PS3 handle, X9ET's The cross key, LT/RT, LB/RB key feedback is more crisp, while the PS3 key feedback is relatively "soft". By the way, the LT/RT of the Fizhi Black Samurai handle are not linear keys (that is, in some racing games, you can't control the throttle force, and in some football games, you can't control the acceleration of players), so these two keys are quite different from the PS3, PS4, and XBOX handles. Of course, this difference is not a problem for me, because my Black Samurai controller is mainly used on the Android platform. At present, the games I am interested in are not linear Function setting of LT/RT keys.

Use test

Surface Pro

Surface Pro itself supports Bluetooth 4.0. According to the instructions, the X9ET is paired with the Surface Pro normally. After pairing, the white background light of the handle LOGO will always be on. Interestingly, the X9ET icon is displayed as "mouse" on the computer.

As can be seen from the figure below, when looking at the properties in the control panel, although the icon is identified as a mouse, the actual properties are correctly identified as a game controller, and all the rocker and keys can be perfectly identified.

First, test the PPSSPP PC version. From the key setting interface, the software fully recognizes each key on the handle and can set it freely.

Test the game Ares on the PPSSPP simulator. The rocker control moves smoothly, and there is no delay in key feedback. Using the handle to help Kui Yeh fight is more than a little bit easier than using the keyboard.

The next test game is Pirates 3 PC version. The game itself can support handle operation, as long as you set the buttons in the setting interface according to your habits.

Summary: On the PC of WIN8.1 (provided that Bluetooth 4.0 is supported), X9ET can be recognized by the computer like the ordinary USB handle before. The specific key settings need to be set in the game.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 tablet

It is very simple to switch the connecting device of the handle. Just press and hold the LOGO key. When the LOGO key backlight flashes quickly, search for Bluetooth devices on the tablet, and connect after searching. Interestingly, on my tablet, X9ET's Bluetooth icon connection is also a "mouse".

Then download and install the Feizhi Game Hall. Here is a reminder that in order to make the best use of the Black Samurai handle, the handle should be in the "active" state. In this way, you can set your own key mapping in the game. The picture below shows that I just connected the handle, but the handle is not activated. The handle icon in the upper right corner of the main interface of the Feizhi Game Hall has an exclamation mark.

The following picture is a screenshot of my activation (please refer to the help description of Feizhi for the activation method). The handle icon in the upper right corner has been displayed normally. The next game test is conducted after activation.

The first attempt is still PSP simulator PPSSPP。 The handle can be used directly without any key setting. If you want to change it to other key positions, you can also readjust it in the simulator.

Test Ares and live football 2014, and the operation is smooth without delay. Feel good and meet my needs.

Next is a series of Android game tests.

FIFA15， It can run, but it has been unable to connect to the server. It cannot play games or test. It was directly deleted later.

FIFA16， Native support handle, there is a small mouse in the menu interface, which can be directly controlled by the rocker. The connection to the server often fails, which may be related to the home network speed. Occasionally, the connection is successful, and the game can be started. The picture is fine, and the handle operation is almost the same as that of the ordinary host FIFA. The handle control is normal without delay.

Modern War 3. I didn't find a way to operate the game's sense of body. In the game, "classic operation mode" was set, and then through key mapping, the left joystick of the handle could control walking, the right joystick could control aiming, and the RT key could shoot. In general, the operation mode of wiping the screen was much improved. The game has aiming aids - as long as the target is close to the enemy, it will automatically aim, which is much easier to operate.

Modern war 4, can run. There is a preset operation mode in the key driver of Feizhi. In theory, it should be played after the game is installed and the handle is connected. In the actual experience, other keys are normal, and only pressing the LB key can not achieve the function of somatosensory aiming, so it is impossible to aim or change the direction the character faces in the game... It may take more time to study how to reset the key mapping.

Modern War 5, every time you run to extract a file, it will automatically flash back, unable to test, so stop.

Crossing the line of fire: the king of gunfight. Normal operation. To be frank, the only purpose of installing this game is to test the somatosensory aiming function... Fortunately, it has lived up to my expectations. The somatosensory aiming is very effective. As long as you press and hold the LB key, slightly shake the handle, the sight will move accordingly; If the somatosensory operation is not needed, you can release the LB key and use the right rocker to control the collimator. To continue unabashedly, the way of body feeling operation is not simpler for me than using the right joystick control, and it will take some time to adapt. Other preset operation modes of Feizhi are also normal. Changing guns, walking and shooting are all smooth.

Top speed car 17. This is my favorite racing game on Android platform. For some reason, the drive configuration of the Feizhi handle of this game failed, so we can't play with body feeling - but I never like to play racing games with body feeling or gravity, and I prefer to use cross keys or rocker more traditionally. This game natively supports the handle control mode. As long as you set it to handle operation in the game settings, you can play happily with the X9ET joystick.

Xiaomi Box Plus

Xiaomi Box Plus also supports Bluetooth 4.0, which is the same as before. It is easy to pair X9ET with Xiaomi Box.

First install the Feizhi Game Hall on the millet box, and then try out the game "Shadow Gun". The Gun of Shadows can be controlled by a handle without making any settings after entering the game. The left rocker controls the movement, the right rocker controls the angle of view and the collimator, and the RB key shoots. Everything handles smoothly.

Then try the chicken simulator. Chicken simulator can be downloaded to FC SFC、MD、 Arcade and other classic host games run simultaneously.

Running the classic game "Dinosaur Quick Play" on the arcade as a child, all kinds of things are smooth and nostalgic. The yellow hat is still the yellow hat. I am not my childhood self.

Finally, try out the PSP simulator PPSSPP. This simulator also does not need any key settings, and is directly available. Here's a change of style, let beauty Aya take the place of Kui Ye, the god of war, who has shown too much before - this time the game is the third birthday on the night before parasitic. Due to the strong function of the enhanced version of the Millet Box, the image resolution can still be improved to run smoothly, and the operation on the large color TV can also be more delicate. The operation of the handle is still smooth. If you are interested, you can set the cross key (adjust the viewing angle) to LT/RT, or the right rocker, so that the operation will be more convenient.

EXTRA Doubles: Xiaomi Box Plus+X9

Holding two handles of Feizhi, players naturally want to see whether they can connect at the same time to achieve doubles - the answer is YES！

Plug the receiver of the flying wise black samurai X9 into the back of the millet box, and the X9 can also be controlled in various interfaces of the TV box. Open the chicken simulator, and open the classic MD game "YouYouBaiShuMoQiang united war". You can see both X9ET and X9 handles on the confirmation interface of the game handle, where X9ET is player 01 and X9 is player 02.

After entering the game, the two handles will control 1P and 2P respectively, without delay and interference, and all kinds of continuous skills will be rubbed, just like playing with wired handles before.

Looking back at the three questions at the beginning of this article, I think we now have the answers:

1. In addition to no empty mouse function, X9ET is consistent with X9 in hand feel, key feedback and operation experience

2. Perfect compatibility with Surface Pro, Samsung Galaxy Tab S8.4 tablet and Xiaomi Box Plus

3. Most of the games I am interested in can be controlled smoothly. For modern war 4 that cannot be controlled normally, further research may be needed

In addition to the empty mouse function, there is a very small difference between the black samurai X9 and X9ET: X9 can press any key to wake up after sleeping and immediately realize the function of that key; X9ET cannot. After sleeping, you need to press the LOGO key, and X9ET will wake up and resume pairing with the previous device before it can be used.

As the first generation product, X9 has strong compatibility across all platforms, but it is not the best choice for mobile entertainment or multi platform entertainment because of the receiver. Its empty mouse function Users can sit on the sofa and sway to control various menus, The quick wake-up function allows users to pick it up and use it at any time. With the feature that the TV box does not move often once installed, I think the best application of X9 is the game entertainment of Android TV box.

Compared with the X9, the advantage of the X9ET is that the Bluetooth 4.0 receiver free pairing of each mobile device completes the last mile of the mobile game console. It not only continues the X9's key feedback experience and somatosensory function, but also solves the X9's problems in a timely manner, and improves the entertainment scheme of the flying wisdom black samurai on the mobile terminal, so I think it is a "problem solver". For players who are accustomed to playing on the road, or users who like me have several devices that hope that the handle can be evenly distributed, X9ET It is a cost-effective choice.
