The CVE Details security vulnerability database recently announced the list of software products with the most security vulnerabilities in 2015. The top five are Mac OS X, iOS, Flash, Adobe Air and Air SDK. Mac OS X leads with 384 and iOS follows with 375, while Android is only 130 and Windows is only about 150.
Last year, the top five on this list were Internet Explorer, Mac OS X, Linux Kernel, Chrome and iOS. Android did not enter the top 50.
The method of CEV Details to get results may also cause some controversy. For example, OS X has only one general entry, while Windows is divided into specific versions. Because a separate version of Windows may have the same vulnerability, the number of vulnerabilities in its full version ranges from 135 to 155.
It would be much more interesting if we looked at the number of vulnerabilities according to the manufacturer - Microsoft ranked first with 1561, including all IE, Windows and other software vulnerabilities. However, 8 of the vulnerabilities that also exist in other Windows versions are listed repeatedly.
