Specification is furious, Seagate seven disk nitrogen filled 10TB hard disk is released

HGTS under Western Datagate introduces 10TB capacity machinery After hard disk, Seagate, another mechanical hard disk giant, finally launched its own 10TB enterprise hard disk.

This violent hard disk belonging to the Enterprise 3.5 Capacity series still maintains the appearance of a standard 3.5-inch desktop computer and the standard 7200 RPM speed, but it is stuffed with 7 discs and 14 heads, and the single disk capacity of 1.4TB has exceeded 40% of the ordinary hard disk. It is mainly aimed at cloud storage data centers, and Huawei and Alibaba have adopted the deployment.

This is the first time Seagate has adopted the nitrogen filled packaging technology. By replacing the air in the hard disk with nitrogen, the discs can be stuck closer, so that more discs can be inserted. Because nitrogen has a lower density and is more chemically stable, it can effectively reduce the head resistance to reduce the power consumption and cost of the hard disk. HGST, which has previously used nitrogen charging technology, said that this technology can reduce the power consumption of their products by 23% compared with ordinary products.

The hard disk can choose SATA and SAS interfaces, with transmission speeds of 6Gbps and 12Gbps respectively. It supports advanced cache algorithms, PowerChoice standby cooling and other technologies, can operate 24 × 7 uninterruptedly, with an average failure interval of 2.5 million hours, and is known as the lightest and lowest power consumption product of its kind in the industry.

PS: HGTS has previously released two 10TB hard drives, UltraStar Ha10 and Ultrastar He10, with shipments of more than 4 million pieces.
