LG Display previously announced that it would invest $8.7 billion to develop OLED display technology. At CES this week, LG Display will show research and development in this field
LG Display's display equipment includes an 18 inch flexible OLED display that can be rolled up like a newspaper. In addition, LG will display 55 inch OLED TV sets. This TV set adopts a split design, separating the electronic part from the display screen, so as to ensure that the display screen is thin.
For the automotive electronics market, LG Display expects that the LCD will dominate the car center console. The company will display a 25 inch "waterfall" arc LCD panel. In addition, another 10.3 inch panel will support gloved touch.
Previously, LG Display has launched a smart phone panel with AIT (Advanced In Cell Touch) technology, which will also be used for notebook screens.
