Clean water test
First, we cleaned the pot. According to the manufacturer, because the filter element has not been fully soaked, the filtration speed will be slow for the first time.

In today's test, we will test: heavy metal content, residual chlorine content, calcium and magnesium content, TDS curing material. Tap water, barreled purified water and filtered water will be tested.
Heavy metal content test
The common heavy metals exceeding the standard, such as lead, copper and mercury, will have toxic and side effects on multiple organs and nervous system. Taking lead as an example, it is highly toxic and difficult to discharge once it enters the body, which will directly damage human brain cells. Mercury will accumulate in the liver, which is extremely destructive to the brain optic nerve and prone to long-term cumulative poisoning.
Drop reagent into three cups of water and shake well. After several minutes of standing, the darker the color, the higher the content of heavy metals. In our test, the content of heavy metals in tap water is the highest, followed by tita filtered water, and the lowest is barreled purified water. It can be seen that the water purifier still has a certain effect on the filtration of heavy metals. Compared with tap water, the content of heavy metals in the filtered water of the tita water purifier has dropped a lot, which is close to that of barreled purified water.
Residual chlorine content test
The residual chlorine in tap water is also known as the smell of bleaching powder. Chlorine or chlorine dioxide is usually used in the disinfection process of tap water to enter the water to form hypochlorite and hypochlorite. Hypochloric acid and hypochlorite have strong oxidation capacity and can kill many kinds of bacteria. During the transportation of tap water, the water also contains a certain amount of residual chlorine to ensure the inhibition of tap water on bacteria.
Drop reagents into three water cups and shake them well. After standing for a few minutes, compare with the residual chlorine reagent test identification table. The darker the yellow is, the higher the residual chlorine content is. In our test, the residual chlorine content in tap water is the highest, almost close to the highest concentration on the standard colorimetric card. However, barreled water and filtered water from tita water purifying kettle contain almost no residual chlorine, which shows that the water purifying kettle has a good filtering effect on residual chlorine.
Calcium and magnesium content test
The so-called calcium and magnesium content test is what we call "hard water" in our daily life. If the inorganic salts in the water, calcium ions and magnesium ions, are relatively high, when they boil, they will produce sediment, which is also called "scale". If the content of calcium and magnesium is too high, it may cause lithiasis, indigestion and other diseases, but it is not the lower the content of calcium and magnesium, the better. Calcium and magnesium are essential nutrients for human media, which are closely related to our bone health. Therefore, the content of calcium and magnesium in water cannot be too high or too low.
Drop calcium and magnesium content reagent into three water cups and shake well. After standing for a few minutes, the closer the color is to purple, the higher the calcium and magnesium content is. In our test, the calcium and magnesium content in tap water is the highest, followed by tita filtered water, and the lowest is barreled water. It can be seen that the kettle has a certain effect on calcium and magnesium filtration, and the retention of calcium and magnesium ions is relatively moderate, so it will not filter calcium and magnesium ions too clean as barreled pure water.
TDS curing test
TDS is the abbreviation of "Total dissolved solids", which means total dissolved solids, also known as total dissolved solids. The unit of measurement is mg/L. It represents how many milligrams of dissolved solids are dissolved in 1 liter of water. The higher the TDS value, the more impurities in the water, mainly including Ca2+, Mg2+, Na+, K+plasma concentration. Purified water is generally 0-9, mineral water is generally 10-90, and tap water in some areas is 260-600. The European Union's TDS standard for drinking water is less than 70, and the American standard is less than 50.

We use a TDS test pen to monitor the TDS curing substance in three cups of water. In our test, the reading of tap water is 70, the reading of barreled purified water is 0, and the reading of purified water bottle is 39. It can be seen that the filtering effect of the water purifier on TDS solids is good, which has been reduced by more than 40%, and has met the EU standard for drinking water.

After our water purification test, the effect of the kettle on heavy metal content, residual chlorine content, calcium and magnesium content and TDS solidification is good. The difference in tap water quality before and after filtration is obvious.
