Enter headphone Meizu HD50 for hands-on experience

The so-called industry is specialized. When users buy earphones, they often choose some famous earphone brands. In recent years, more and more mobile phone manufacturers have launched their own earphone products. Meizu officially launched its first headphone HD50 on November 9, and we immediately got this product:

HD50 adopts flat carton packaging, and there is a rendering of the product on the front of the package.

There are objective parameters and frequency response curves of the product on the back of the package. HD50 unit has a diameter of 40mm, an impedance of 32 Ω, a sensitivity of 103dB, a frequency response range of 20-20000Hz, and a weight of 220g.

Open the package, you can see a translucent plastic cover with some Meizu slogans printed on it.

There is a manual and warranty card in the package, and a black waterproof storage box.

Open the storage box to see the headset and related accessories.

The accessories in the package are very simple, one "aircraft head", one 3.5mm to 6.35mm adapter, and one 3.5mm headphone cable (with microphone and remote control).

HD50 is made of metal shell and metal powder metallurgy process, which looks very metallic.

Meizu's new logo is printed on the top of the headset.

The head beam has nine levels of size adjustment. I believe that friends with large forehead will not feel any discomfort when using it.

The headset has a cross shaft design, and there are left and right marks on the inside of the headset. Earmuffs are made of artificial protein skin, which is soft.

Some close-up of the cross shaft.

Close up of wiring inside the head beam.

The workmanship of the earphones themselves is relatively solid, and compared with earphones at the same price, there are few such level of workmanship.

As a mobile phone manufacturer, Meizu will certainly hope that their headset products can be compatible with mobile phone products. The wire control and microphone still use metal materials. The advantage is that the texture is very good, but the disadvantage is that the weight is too large. Wearing the headset is a burden.

The logo of Meizu is engraved beside the microphone.

The attached 3.5mm headphone cable uses a nickel plated plug and uses an Android standard interface. If it is plugged into the iPhone online control system, it will not work properly. Therefore, Apple users need to replace a headphone cable if they need to use it normally.

From the appearance, the HD50 headset is sincere, and the design and workmanship are satisfactory. If you can give more strength to the additional wire, it will be better.

A headset, of course, can not ignore the sound performance. HD50 is a warm earphone, with the overall sound moving towards middle and low frequencies. It is a earphone with obvious pop music tuning, and it is also a style that is easily accepted by ordinary users in many entry-level earphones. The high-frequency performance is relatively refreshing, but the high-frequency extension is slightly insufficient. Students who like "soaring into the sky" may not be satisfied with such high-frequency performance. In terms of low frequency, the sense of volume and diving are sufficient. The sound field is not very big, and the analysis may not meet the needs of some "Maoists", but don't forget that this is a popular product for pop music services. In general, HD50 can better cater to the listening habits of ordinary users, highlighting the vocal and low-frequency performance. It is a good choice to listen to pop music and rock music, while the performance of musical instruments is slightly inferior.

In terms of collocation, if you use Meizu's own PRO 5, you will feel that the middle and low frequencies are too thick. Since the PRO 5 is a mobile phone that focuses on the middle and low frequencies, and the high frequencies are slightly darker, if it is paired with an HD50 that focuses on the middle and low frequencies, it can be imagined that it will be more "heavy taste", but it is not ruled out that users will like this feeling. With the iPhone 6s Plus (note that it is not 6 Plus, but important things still need to be emphasized), the sound will appear much more neutral, which is also the feeling that many people pursue. Although there is not so much sense of low frequency and the sound is not so close, the sound separation and overall control are still better than the combination with PRO 5. In addition, the HD50 impedance is not very low, but it is also friendly in terms of ease of push. As for the chance to go on stage, there will be no better performance, which needs further audition. In terms of wearing, the headgear and earmuffs are made of soft materials, and the overall pressure of the earphones is not great, so it's still comfortable to wear them just now, but you will still feel uncomfortable after wearing them for a long time. Of course, this is also a problem that this type of earphones are difficult to avoid.

As far as this simple hands-on audition is concerned, Meizu's 399 yuan earphone is still quite lethal, with high face value and impressive sound performance. It would be better if it could be more abundant in accessories. However, from the perspective of sound, users who prefer a balanced trend It is suitable for matching with some front ends that are biased towards medium and high frequencies and have strong analytical power. Its voice is more suitable for listening to human voices, especially male voices. It is also competent for dealing with some young users' favorite ACG music and rock music.
