From the comparison of the parameters of the millet box and the new millet box, the new millet box has added Bluetooth and improved the remote control on the basis of the original. At the same time, the hardware parameters and standards have been improved, but the price is still 299, which is quite cost-effective.

Appearance and accessories:

Judging from the packaging box, the new millet box is smaller in size. There is no difference in the accessories provided, but the HDMI, power supply and remote control are still the same.

The power supply has changed from the previous charger+data cable into one, from 5V, 2A to 5.2V, 2.1A.

The length of HDMI wire has not changed, and the whole wire has become thinner. The gold-plated interface has been canceled.

The remote control has the biggest change and is designed with 11 keys. Although the new remote control only increases the volume on the function keys, it becomes quite simple and easy to use after layout adjustment.

The back of the new remote control is made of frosted material to maintain consistency and avoid plastic scratches on the previous remote control.

The millet box body has not changed, and it is still a square platform.

The interface is not increased or decreased, but the location is slightly changed. The mirco USB does not have the previous anti fool design, which is strange.

Software operation:

In addition to the different system software version numbers, there is no difference in functions between the two millet boxes, except for the new Bluetooth connection function of the new millet box.

It is still a familiar UI interface. The picture of the big square is very beautiful. The tabs of different functions are on the top, and the wifi status is on the top right.

If you use menu keys on many pages, there will be more functions. For the time being, only search and upload logs will be available. It is expected that there will be more functions in the future.

When playing local video, it can be converted into 3D. Although the 3D effect after conversion is not as good as the original, it is still playable.

A customized version of the app can be installed in the Xiaomi store, and the specially designed app is quite comfortable to use.

The inconvenience of Xiaomi Box is that it does not have a 3.5mm headphone hole. To some extent, the new Xiaomi Box has a Bluetooth connection function, which solves this problem.

After successful pairing, only the function of canceling pairing is available.

The current network set-top box still slightly follows the previous TV habits in its thinking. For example, the life of the CR2032 battery used in the Xiaomi box remote control is not long, so replacement and purchase are troublesome. Xiaomi can consider replacing the built-in lithium battery to solve the problem. At the same time, Xiaomi remote control can also be added with learning function, making it more intelligent and convenient. I think this is the future development of Millet Box.
