13 million stack vivo Xplay smartphone shooting evaluation

Vivo Xplay is the latest flagship smartphone launched by Vivo, which is equipped with a 13 million pixel stack camera. Now let's take a look at the shooting performance of Xplay.

Note: When shooting with Xplay, the editor has upgraded to the latest version at that time, and the sample cannot represent the shooting level of subsequent system updates. The version number is PD1225_A_2.6.3.

Let's take a look at the shooting interface of Xplay:

Very, very simple, only the resolution can be adjusted.

There are only three shooting modes.

Next, let's get to the main topic.

day

The performance of the samples taken in the daytime is fairly good, and the spot metering is very sensitive.

And the wide-angle is also very good, larger than the Samsung 9500.

Wide angle comparison: Xplay on the left and Samsung 9500 on the right.

By the way, Xplay can shoot images very quickly in normal mode, and the imaging animation is also very smooth, so the experience is good.

Sharpness

The 13 million pixel sharpness is of great concern to all of you. Here is a comparison with the 13 million pixel sample shot by Samsung 9500.

The same scene.

After 100% magnification, the sharpness of the Samsung 9500 will be better than that of the Xplay. Click to see a larger picture.

HDR

Note: This version of HDR is not perfect yet. Auto focusing that takes too long to synthesize or is often too fast will make HDR image blurred. According to the staff of vivo, the next version will solve this problem perfectly.

HDR off.

When HDR is turned on, the details of the shaded part will be more displayed.

HDR is turned on. The upper left corner wall that was hit by the sun and exposed before it was turned on has also been repaired after HDR was turned on.

Macro

The color restoration is OK, and the macro ability is also good. Large wide-angle, shooting content is also more.

This is a comparison of the macro proof of iPhone 5.

Nightscape

In terms of night view, the performance is not very good, and there are many noises.

Those who have read the previous articles of the small editor should know that there is no night shooting mode optimized for night scenes on a machine, and they can also use HDR to do more polishing or improve details. However, because this version of Xplay's HDR has not been debugged well, it is not suitable for handheld, but if you have a tripod, it is another matter.

The following two city night scenes were taken with mobile phone tripod:

This is a normal mode shooting with less light. Although the ISO has been raised to 1560, the shutter speed is still fast, about 1/14 of a second, to ensure a safe shutter speed.

This is the shooting sample after HDR is turned on. There is no need to doubt it. Xiao Bian said that he didn't do anything. However, Xplay's calculation of shutter time is really impressive, accurate to 14 decimal places. Well, it's actually a 1-second shutter speed, such a high ISO, plus a 1-second long exposure, you can get such a proof. It's not surprising. So I often say that even if there is no night scene mode when shooting night scenes, I can try to turn on HDR to see if there is a magic oil effect.

Another scenario, normal mode.

Turn on HDR mode shooting. The effect is good. If you can lower ISO, it will perform better.

summary

In the daytime, the performance of the proof is fairly good, the spot metering is also sensitive, the image of the proof is very fast, and the image animation is also very smooth. The shooting experience in the normal mode is excellent, but the sharpness is slightly weaker. The HDR effect is OK, but the synthesis time is too long, and it is difficult to produce the film in hand. If it is really necessary to shoot HDR, it is better to find something that can completely stabilize the phone or find a place where you can completely fix your hands. This problem is believed to be solved in the future system upgrade. The macro effect is also good, and the color is also OK. The emptiness of the background is also more natural. As for the night scene, it performs well when the surrounding light is sufficient, but the noise is not well suppressed. In some cases where the ambient light is weak, if there is a tripod or a method to stabilize the hands, turning on HDR has a magic oil effect.

If the next version of the camera can add ISO control and night scene shooting mode, and optimize the current HDR, the shooting level of Xplay will be improved. Let's wait and see if Xplay can shoot better.
