There has been a lot of news about Sony's new flagship Honami some time ago, and today there is news that Honami will use Sony's own 1/1.6 inch Exmor RS stack sensor and Cybershot G glass lens. The 1/1.6 inch sensor is the largest sensor in mobile phones except for the Nokia 808 pureview. Large size sensors will improve the imaging quality. The following figure shows the comparison between Sony Honami and other mobile phone sensors.
Looking back at Honami's parameters, this new Sony flagship will use Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 800 processor, a 20 megapixel camera, xenon flash+dual LED flash combination. Audio will also be integrated with a separate decoding chip used in Walkman series players. It is said that this is Sony's killer weapon combining its own Cyber shot and Walkman. It seems to be quite worth looking forward to.
