PPTV released its first mobile phone product, PP · King7/7s, on September 7. Although the configuration is not outstanding, it is equipped with the first 2K resolution naked eye 3D screen and 9018K2M+max97220 hifi chip, which makes people have high expectations for its audio-visual performance. Now let's see how it works.

Appearance and workmanship
The front of PP · King7/7s is a little like LG G2 in those days. The machine is made of 2.5D glass, with rounded corners and a certain radian on the forehead and chin.
The back is made of metal, and the 3-section fuselage is similar to Meizu's MX5.
From left to right are earphones with white paint, cameras, light and distance sensors. The black edge of ID without border is quite touching, and the gap between the information screen and the light screen is large. It is recommended that Virgo and non Virgo choose the black version
The lower part of the fuselage is a PPTV two-color logo that also serves as a breathing light, but it is special that it does not have a touch function. The machine uses virtual buttons on the screen, which to some extent wastes the space of the fuselage chin and the effective area of the screen.
The dual color breathing lamp is designed in blue outside and red inside, which is also rare.
The machine is not equipped with a fingerprint identification module. The central axis on the back is from top to bottom, including a noise reduction microphone, a camera, a dual color temperature flash lamp, and a logo.
The back treatment is very similar to the MX5. The top and bottom of the fuselage are made of plastic, and the junction with the metal fuselage has a polished bright surface in the primary metal color. However, as a latecomer, the color difference of the metal paint on the top and bottom of the PP · King 7s and the feel of the seam are much smaller.
The infrared remote control is on the left side of the body top, and the 3.5mm headphone connector is on the right side. The camera not only has no protrusion, but also has a certain depression. The flash and lens edge are decorated with metal chamfers.
The power and volume keys are on the right side of the fuselage. The power keys have concentric patterns that are convenient for blind touch. And or card slots are placed on the left side of the fuselage. The keys are tight, but the springback feedback is ordinary.
There is a row of speaker openings in the middle of the bottom, two screws on the side, and mirco USB interface on the right. A ring of plastic edging is added between the metal body and the front 2.5D glass.
At the press conference, the iPhone 6 Plus, which ignored the proportion of screens, was blacked again. The official said that the proportion of screens reached 81.37%, but it is estimated that the ID has no black edge in the border
The left side is the Samsung S6 edge with a 5.2 inch screen, the middle is the PP · King7s with a 6-inch screen, and the right side is the Moto X Pro with a 6-inch screen.
Although the nominal screen ratio is very high, the size and thickness of the body are quite close to that of Moto X Pro.
System and U
PP · King7/7s runs an Android 5.1 based poly UI system. The system retains a lot of flavor of the native system, but the line width is very large to show the size of the content, which is completely different from a 6-inch mobile phone.
The biggest change of the system is the desktop, which is close to the Android native desktop in the middle; On the left is the video content of PPTV, similar to the news aggregation page of Samsung/HTC, and the video aggregation of LeTV mobile phones;
The colorful thing on the right is actually something similar to the Xiaomi situational desktop. In essence, it is just a wallpaper with shortcuts for travel, shopping, entertainment and food applications on a specific location. Of course, the fixed partners here are PPTV partners, and customization is not supported.
The system desktop has not changed much except for icon redrawing. System applications such as clock still use the original version of Android, and also retain the letter application drawer of Android 5.1, but the latter has little meaning for Chinese people (the subtitle sorting of Chinese Pinyin is not as convenient as the traditional time sequence).
The left two are notification bars, and the right side is the multi task interface
The notification bar is a classic Android 5.0/5.1 double-layer drop-down design. The first drop-down is notification, and the second drop-down is shortcut button. The main color of the notification bar has changed to bright blue, and the shortcut button and the native color have not changed much. The multi task interface is native, but it has an additional one button cleaning button.
In terms of fluency, the machine uses MediaTek MT6795 processor with 3G memory. This CPU also appears on Hongmi note2, LeTV mobile phone 1, and MX5. I won't repeat it here. Its overall feature is that the CPU has good computing power, but GPU game performance is relatively weak.
The actual use of the machine is relatively smooth. Open the GPU rendering curve in developer mode. As long as the lower curve does not break the green line, it means that its frame number exceeds 60 frames. In the system menu with fewer picture elements, the machine has a high degree of fluency.
The smoothness of the desktop should be lower, while Meituan, a third-party application, hovers around the green line. There is still room for improvement in optimization.
Naked eye 3D
The biggest feature of PP · King7s is its 2K resolution naked eye 3D screen, which can save the trouble of wearing 3D glasses. The system itself is 2D, and only when playing a specific 3D film source will it be displayed in 3D.
It should be noted that PP · King7 does not have the naked eye 3D function, and the difference of 500 yuan between the two machines is basically reflected in the naked eye 3D and Unicom traffic subsidies for more than half a year.
Guanxuan adopts the technology of "anti slit micro control projection". The realization principle is to add a layer of switch liquid crystal under the liquid crystal layer of the screen, which can block part of the light and let the left and right eyes see different content.
In a less rigorous analogy, the shape is similar to the ghost card of the year, and different images can be seen from different angles. But this screen does not require the user to change the perspective (the left and right eyes are different perspectives), so it can provide different images for the left and right eyes at the same time, thus creating a 3D feeling.
For a single lens device such as a camera, the effect of live shooting is a ghost image. The closer the object (near the wing) is, the larger the ghost separation is, and the farther the object is, the smaller the ghost separation is.
However, limited by the principle, the best observation point is only on the central axis. In the actual experience, there is a very obvious 3D effect when viewed in the middle, and the offset from a certain angle has little effect. However, after watching for a long time or viewing from an excessively large angle, there will still be the problem of dizziness and tiredness often found in naked 3D.
The machine uses a 6-inch screen with a 2K resolution, so theoretically, even if you take a close shot, you will not have a clear sense of graininess. However, the rare horizontal bars on the 2K screen can be seen from the live shot and naked eye, which is probably related to the switch liquid crystal layer to be added to the 3D screen.

PP · King7/7s, as the first mobile phone of PPTV, has a fairly good hands-on experience except for its special and difficult name. Although the appearance of the machine has many traces of imitation, and the big black edge brought by "ID without border" is also full of grooves, there are also some special designs, and the workmanship and system smoothness are fairly good (of course, this has a certain relationship with its proximity to the original).
Although the problem of eyestrain still exists, its 3D screen can really make a more realistic 3D display effect. In addition, the additional switch liquid crystal layer added to the 3D screen seems to have a certain impact on the fineness of the 2K screen, and it is estimated that it will also have a certain impact on the brightness, color and visual angle of the screen, but this needs further evaluation and confirmation.
