Samsung officially launched the new flagship Galaxy S6 edge+and Galaxy Note 5 on August 13, and held a domestic conference in Shanghai on August 19. We also took the opportunity of this conference to experience Samsung's new generation of Gemini flagship phones:

Galaxy S6 edge+

The Galaxy S6 edge+can be said to be an enlarged version of the Galaxy S6 edge. It is very close from the appearance design to the hardware configuration. The highlight is the hyperbolic screen. Put them together like twins, but it can be seen that the corners of the Galaxy S6 edge+are relatively tough due to changes in the size and proportion of the body.

The structure of the back remains unchanged. It is also a piece of glass of gorilla generation 4.

The Galaxy S6 edge+has a 6.9 mm ultra-thin body. The SIM card slot is also placed on the top of the body, but the infrared transmitter on the top is removed, and the position of the noise reducing microphone is also changed. In addition, we can see a Qualcomm 4G sticker, which proves that the Galaxy S6 edge+of the Bank of China also uses Qualcomm's baseband chip, and supports up to LTE Cat. 6. In addition, Galaxy S6 edge+ An edge has been added at the top and bottom to make the lines look stronger.

The rear 16 million pixel camera, F1.9 large aperture, and OIS optical anti shake. There is a led fill light on the right side of the fuselage, and there is a heart rate sensor below.

Although the appearance is very similar, the Galaxy S6 edge+'s border control is obviously better than the Galaxy S6 edge, and the border looks narrower. In addition, this time, the function of the curved screen is no longer inferior, and many application shortcuts are added, and the presentation form is also different from the Galaxy Note Edge.

The Galaxy S6 edge+and Galaxy Note 5 support fast wireless charging. With a dedicated charging dock, it only takes 2 hours to fully charge the battery in wireless mode.

Next is the UI. Of course, the Galaxy S6 edge+still uses Samsung's TouchWiz, and is based on the latest Android 5.1.1. As the screen is enlarged, there are five horizontal icons under the launcher. Compared with the Galaxy S6, the icon is obviously redrawn and has a more rounded style. Another huge change is that the Galaxy S6 edge+launcher can remove the secondary menu.

Of course, in order to cater to the usage habits of old users, two different modes are also provided.

In the traditional secondary menu mode, the icons are arranged in a 5 * 5 manner, while the Galaxy S6 is arranged in a 4 * 5 manner, and supports the arrangement of icons by the beginning letter.

In addition, the music screen contacts of Galaxy S6 edge+have a new function, which can display the contact person icon and support direct email.

The Galaxy S6 edge+uses the same Exynos 7420 as the Galaxy S6, and is the strongest mobile SoC today. With the 4G Ram, we tested the 32G version of the Galaxy S6 edge+. We can also see that the model of the Galaxy S6 edge+is SM-G9280.

The Exynos 7420 on the Galaxy S6 edge+is also completely the same as that seen before. It is composed of a four core A57 2.1GHz and a four core A53 1.5GHz eight core 64 bit architecture. The 14nm process is also r1p0. So from the SoC point of view, it is completely the same as the Galaxy S6. This is the first time Samsung has used SoCs of the same model and frequency in the S and Note series.

In terms of camera specifications, Galaxy S6 edge+and Galaxy S6 are exactly the same. In fact, the sensor model is also the same. Sony's IMX240 is used in the rear. This is a 16 million pixel, 1/2.6 inch sensor Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge are all used. This is the first time Samsung has used the same sensor in so many flagship products. The front is Samsung's own S5K4E 65 million pixels.

In terms of running score, only 64521 were tested on site once, which is due to the CPU frequency reduction caused by the running of the on-site prototype for a long time. This is a normal phenomenon.

In terms of photography, the Galaxy S6 edge+'s manual mode can finally be called the "full blood" version, which supports shutter adjustment from 1/24000 seconds to 10 seconds. This range is believed to meet the needs of most users.

Galaxy Note 5

Compared with Galaxy S6 edge+, which continues the design of Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy Note 5 can be said to be a product with its own new design language. It has some shadow of Galaxy S6 in appearance, but some details should be more extreme. The most obvious part from the front is the use of ultra narrow border design.

The back of Galaxy Note 5 is designed with 3D glass, which is very similar to the hyperbolic glass of the front panel glass of Galaxy S6 edge in shape, which reminds people of Xiaomi Note, which is also designed with 3D glass.

Compared with the previous generation products Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy Note 5 has a great improvement in appearance (from left to right are Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy S6 edge).

The styles of the back are also very different. In order to use the integrated design of metal+glass, Samsung has also abandoned the "good tradition" of the removable back cover and battery of the previous generation of Galaxy Note products. Many old users have complained about this (left Galaxy Note 5, right Galaxy Note 4).

In addition, Galaxy Note 5 has added a new silver color.

The design of the top of the fuselage is quite different. The design of the Galaxy Note 5 is the same as that of the Galaxy S6 edge+. Similarly, the SIM card slot is set on the top of the fuselage, and Qualcomm's 4G baseband is also used. It can also be seen from this perspective that the Galaxy Note 5, which is also 5.7 inches in size, is one circle smaller than the Galaxy Note 4 (upper Galaxy Note 5, lower Galaxy Note 4).

The Galaxy Note 5 National Bank Edition adopts the design of dual card and dual standby. It supports two nano SIM cards, but it is not an AND or card holder, that is, it cannot expand the capacity through TF card.

On the right side of the fuselage is the power key, which is in the same position. However, the lines and materials of the border are very different. The Galaxy Note 5 will no longer have the risk of paint dropping (upper Galaxy Note 4, lower Galaxy Note 5).

There is a volume key on the left side of the body. The volume key has changed from the integrated design of Galaxy Note 4 to a separate design (upper Galaxy Note 5, lower Galaxy Note 4).

The bottom of the fuselage is also greatly changed. Except that the S-Pen is placed on the right side, the bottom structure of the two sides is very different. The bottom of the Galaxy Note 5 has a 3.5mm headphone interface, USB port, speaker and call microphone, while the speaker of the Galaxy Note 4 is placed on the back of the conventional fuselage (upper Galaxy Note 4, lower Galaxy Note 5).

The hand feel of S-Pen has also been greatly improved, and there is a pop-up device at the end of the pen (the live demonstration machine has a protective device, which cannot be demonstrated).

Since the UI height of Galaxy S6 edge+and Galaxy Note 5 is the same, we won't go into details. The S-Pen function on Galaxy Note 5 has also been enhanced. An S-Pen floating window has been added, which can add various shortcuts.

You can even edit different applications yourself, and third-party applications can also be added to shortcuts.

For example, we can quickly add Sina Weibo here, which can also achieve more functions through customization by application manufacturers.

Galaxy Note 5 also supports the function of long screen capture, which enables you to capture the scrolling screen and edit it immediately.

In addition, the Galaxy Note 5 we tested also uses IMX240. It is not known whether the two mobile phones of this generation will use the ISOCELL version.
