Screen performance
R7 Plus uses a 6-inch 1080P AMOLED screen, 367PPI, and the official logo brightness is 300 nits. Many slim models choose AMOLED screens, but they tend to be oversaturated.
To test the screen performance of R7 Plus, We find Moto X Pro with 6-inch 2K resolution AMOLED screen, Samsung S6 edge (basic mode) with 5.1-inch 2K resolution AMOLED screen, and Xiaomi4 with 5-inch 1080P resolution as comparison.
The measured maximum brightness of R7 Plus is the highest among the three A-screen devices, about 340 nits, higher than the official nominal and S6 edge, and much higher than Moto X Pro, but still lower than that of Xiaomi 4 with LCD screen.
In terms of white contrast, the performance of the three A-screen devices is better than that of the M4 with LCD screen. The R7 Plus is slightly weaker than Moto X Pro, and is close to S6 edge; In terms of black contrast, R7 Plus with higher brightness can see box 5, which is better than Moto X Pro and S6 edge, while Xiaomi 4 on LCD screen is still at the bottom.
The uniform 100% brightness displays white. The brighter Xiaomi 4 and R7 Plus appear more white and accurate. S6 edge and Moto X Pro both tend to be red and yellow.
The self luminous pixels of the A screen can hardly emit light at all. All the black scenes of the three A screen devices can easily crush the Xiaomi 4 LCD screen, and there is no common light leakage problem of the LCD screen.
The solid color performance of R7 Plus is more similar to the LCD screen of Xiaomi 4, which is more colorful and eye-catching than the S6 edge of the basic mode, but not too colorful like Moto X Pro, which is quite amazing for the AMOLED screen (S6 edge It seems that the screen refresh rate of is different from that of other devices. When displaying color pictures, the performance of R7 Plus is still closer to that of Xiaomi4's LCD screen. The yellow and red tendency of Moto X Pro and S6 edge has been corrected to a large extent (especially the seashell, sea, and dandelion samples). The color saturation is more elegant than that of the traditional A screen, which will look more comfortable and natural. In the scene where there are many black fields and high contrast is required (sunset proof), the equipment with three AMOLED screens once again shows the advantage of rolling.
The visual angle is good. Except that the Xiaomi 4 LCD screen has a slight brightness attenuation at a large angle, and there is a slight whitening at the death diagonal, the other three flagship aircrafts all perform very well.
In conclusion, the screen of R7 Plus is estimated to tune the AMOLED screen closest to the LCD screen. While preserving the dark field performance of the latter, it corrects the oversaturated color tendency of the latter to the level close to the wide color gamut LCD screen. OPPO R7 Plus uses Sony's new 13 million pixel IMX278 sensor, aperture F2.2, and laser assisted focusing.
