Speaking of Android Wear, you may first think of MOTO 360 and LG G Watch R. The round dial seems to be popular with users. LG released the new Android Wear product Urbane on MWC2015 in March. Today we will experience this product together:
LG Watch Urbane's package is simple, with white as the main theme. There is a circular logo on the top of the package, which shows that it uses a circular dial design.
In addition, there are not many instructions on the packaging of LG Watch Urban.
Open the top cover of the package, the inside of the package is designed in coffee, and the body of the watch can be seen on the first layer.
The bottom layer of the package contains relevant accessories and instructions. The design here is interesting. There are three small independent "accessory warehouses" in the package.
LG Watch Urbane accessories are consistent with other Android Wear accessories. They all have power adapters, data cables, and charging bases. Of course, there is also a manual. We got the Hong Kong version of LG Watch Urban, and the manual has three languages: traditional Chinese, simplified Chinese and English.
The output of the power adapter is 9V 0.85A, which is much lower than that of the smart phone.
The output specification of the charging base is still 5V 0.85A, but for the 410mAh battery, this output current is enough.
Due to the highly unified configuration and system, the Android Wear products are not very different, so the manufacturer has to make a point in the appearance design and additional functions. LG Watch Urbane and LG G Watch R are both circular dial products. However, in terms of dial design, LG Watch Urbane is different from G Watch R in its sporty and fashionable style, which is more calm and retro. What we got was a gold model with a brown leather strap, which made the appearance more like a "watch".
LG Watch Urban, like G Watch R, has a round P-OLED screen with a size of 1.3 inches 320 * 320. Here you can see the size comparison between Apple Watch and G Watch.
LG Watch Urban provides two microphones at the bottom, but since it has no speakers, it cannot make calls. It needs to work with mobile phones and Bluetooth headsets to dial.
There is only one key on the watch, which acts as the power key and the Home key.
The back is very similar to other Android Wear watches, which have a heart rate sensor and five metal contacts (for charging and connecting to the computer).
In terms of watchband, LG Watch Urban uses a 22mm leather watchband, which looks more textured than ordinary smart watches.
The back of the strap has the logo of LG and the logo of the leather strap.
In addition to the appearance design, LG Watch Urbane is also the first watch in the world to use the Android 5.1.1 system. Compared with the previous Android Wear system based on Android 5.0 or even Android 4.4, this system has great improvements in interaction and functions.
Perhaps because of the launch of Apple Watch, Google launched this new Android Wear system, which is much more beautiful in the design of the system menu than before.
After nearly a year of development, Android Wear has also been very rich in application resources, but for domestic users, first of all, there must be a good "outside the wall" network environment For some applications installed on the mobile phone, if Android Wear is adapted, we will find that there will be application portals for these applications on the watch, as shown in AIDA64 and WeChat, which we are familiar with.
Through the watch version of AIDA64, we can clearly view the hardware information of the watch itself.
The WeChat on Android Wear only provides the function of sending and receiving messages. You can enter the WeChat group to chat, or chat with your star marked friends.
There are three ways to chat: facial expression, voice and voice to text.
More experiences of LG Watch Urbane will be shared in the follow-up evaluation, and we will also make horizontal comparison with Apple Watch.
