On April 8, DJI updated its Smart series four axis aircraft and released Phantom 3 Professional and Phantom 3 Advanced. As a great frontier This generation of Genie 3 has added 4K camera, vision and sonar positioning systems, and high-definition image transmission and remote control, and has conscientiously kept the original price ($999 for the low configuration version and $1259 for the high configuration version).

Before the detailed evaluation, let's send a picture appreciation.


packing

It is packed in a white frosted paper box, with product illustrations on the front and back, and product information in English on the right.


After opening the outer package, the manual is fixed on the environmental protection paper box, and the machine and accessories are under it.


parts

There are not many accessories. In addition to the body and remote control, from left to right, there are power adapters, PTZ spare parts, instructions and rotors (in a black bag).


8 rotors are attached with the machine, 4 rotors are marked in black and 4 rotors are marked in white. The adjacent rotors of the four axis aircraft are in opposite directions. For easy identification, the corresponding rotors and motors will be marked with the same color.


In the PTZ accessory box is another set of shock absorption accessories of PTZ, in addition, a special wrench and 3M fixing glue are also included. The pan tilt pad is very soft and can be compressed in multiple layers.


A micro USB data cable (far right) is also provided in the power adapter box.


The adapter adopts a universal power connector, with an output power of 17.5V/5.7A and 99.75W, easily surpassing the notebook adapter.


The power cord is divided into two ends, which are used to charge the remote control and the body battery respectively. The body battery charging connector is equipped with a protective case.

The new version of remote control is very similar to the remote control of Inspire1. It comes with a tablet/mobile phone bracket for digital high-definition image transmission (real-time display of aircraft camera images). The remote control is large. In addition to the two directional rockers, it has only a power switch and a one button landing button on the front, and a 5-format power indicator on the bottom.


In order to increase the friction force, the rocker head is made with a tooth shaped projection. Although the shape is very dangerous, the pressing feel is good.


The back of the remote control is a large silicone anti-skid pad, and the bottom is the electrical information of the remote control.


Below the remote control is the USB interface for connecting the graphic display device (tablet or mobile phone).



Many control buttons and knobs are placed on the left and right corners of the remote control, and the power interface is placed on the lower right corner with its own dust cover.


There is a soft sponge pad inside the bracket and a folding bayonet for fixing the phone (the two bulges in the middle). The button on the right side of the bracket can slowly and automatically extend to adapt to the width of different equipment.


It is very harmonious with the iPad mini.


fuselage

Except that the decorative strip is replaced with gold, the appearance is basically the same as that of Spirit 2.


The motor is upgraded synchronously due to the weight increase of the machine.


The front of the fuselage is the metal nameplate of the genie, and below the nameplate is the micro USB interface for debugging.


The back of the machine is the battery compartment, and the long battery lies in the body.


The size and weight of the battery are very close to the power adapter of general notebook, and the parameters and use warning light information are printed all around.


The battery compartment is unexpectedly simple. One side is the battery interface, and the other side only sees the wiring of the motor.


The antenna is conveniently placed on the inside of the machine tripod.


The most disagreeable thing about the whole machine is the dense screw holes on the back. There are 7 fixing screws under each rotor, and a downward warning light is in the middle of the cantilever.


In addition to the PTZ and camera, the most obvious part of the middle part is the new vision and ultrasonic positioning system. Among the three openings, the top one is the camera of the visual positioning system (directly exposed), and the bottom two are the transmitters of the ultrasonic positioning system.


Camera and PTZ


This time we got the top version of Genie 3, so under the three-axis PTZ is the 4K Anba (GoPro supplier) camera, which uses an aspheric lens (f2.8 aperture, 94 degrees wide angle).



The cable between the PTZ and the camera is quite rough and directly exposed.



The PTZ and the fuselage are connected by four soft feet to reduce the fuselage vibration caused by the aircraft motor.


On the right side of the PTZ is the micro USB interface. In order to reduce weight, the cable is still exposed


On the right side of the PTZ is the TF memory card slot. The machine also comes with a TF card.
