On March 31, Samsung "once again" released the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge Gemini flagship phones in Beijing, and officially announced the Chinese trademark "Galaxy". We also conducted the relevant experience of these two products on the spot, and these two phones gave us both surprise and disappointment.

Appearance design and impact

First of all, from the perspective of appearance design, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge are undoubtedly excellent. The front and back sides of the body are Corning's latest generation 4 gorilla glass, which greatly enhances the fall resistance. The increasingly mature metal frame also lets us see the change of Samsung. It is no longer the "plastic star" of many people. It is also very tough to play with materials.

If the Galaxy S6 is an exquisite mobile phone, but the surprise degree of its appearance design is not high, the Galaxy S6 edge can be said to have subverted our understanding of the mobile phone's appearance. The double-sided curved side screen brings more possibilities to the Galaxy S6 edge's appearance. Compared with the previous generation of single-sided side screen mobile phone Galaxy Note Edge, the Galaxy S6 edge can be said to meet the visual needs of many "obsessive-compulsive disorder" users. At the same time, this bold design is also very exciting. Of course, this cool appearance is based on Samsung's curved screen technology, which is also the world's first hyperbolic side screen mobile phone (LG has also exhibited similar products, but only in the prototype stage).

If we compare the side screen of Galaxy Note Edge with that of Galaxy S6 edge, we will find that the side screen of Galaxy S6 edge is actually reduced in function. It no longer has the shortcut, multi task management and other functions on Galaxy Note Edge, and the side screen will not be seen in daily use. Instead, it is the new application of quick contact on the side screen. This change can only be said that Samsung is still trying to make various attempts on the function of the side screen, and has not identified the direction of development.

The design of the border has also been greatly changed. The Galaxy S6 edge is more rounded than the Galaxy Note Edge, and the power key has been changed from the top of the fuselage to the right, which is not easy to operate.

In addition, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge are also the first time Samsung has used the design of a non removable back cover on its flagship computer. This approach can lead to a lighter and thinner body, further improving the compactness of the body. However, the design of removable batteries and pluggable tf cards, which have persisted for a long time, has been abandoned, which may disappoint many Samsung's old users.

Due to the excessive pursuit of thin and light design (the thickness of the Galaxy S6 is only 6.9 mm), the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge, which are equipped with large size photosensitive elements and optical anti shake, also have to make a camera with obvious bulge. Many netizens expressed difficulty in accepting the design.

Improvement of shooting performance

Although in terms of pixels and sensors, the 16 million pixel Sony IMX240 of Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge has not made much progress compared with the Galaxy Note 4 period, Samsung has made greater efforts in the lens this time, with the lens aperture reaching F1.9, which also supports OIS optical anti shake, and also adds the focus function, so its performance is not bad. At the same time, Samsung has also brought more shooting modes to the Galaxy S6, including the "professional" shooting mode that many players expect, but this mode still has a major problem, which is the lack of shutter time adjustment.

In addition to the improvement of image quality, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge also have a significant improvement in camera response, which is also related to the improvement of various aspects of mobile phone configuration.

Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge use the Exynos 7420 processor, which is also a mobile processor for global collection of 14nm FinFET technology. It consists of four core Cortex-A53 1.5GHz and four core Cortex-A57 2.1GHz LITTLE architecture.

Some changes of the Bank of China

This time, the model of the public version of BOC Galaxy S6 is SM-G9200, and the Galaxy S6 edge is SM-G9250, both of which have the network support of "All Netcom". The Galaxy S6 edge of the Bank of China supports a single card and uses Nano SIM. In addition, due to the bilateral side screens, the card slot is moved to the top of the fuselage.

The BOC Galaxy S6 supports dual cards and dual standby, and also uses Nano SIM.

It can be seen that the dual card version of the Galaxy S6 is wider than that of ordinary mobile phones, because it supports dual cards.
