Samsung Announces UFS Flash Memory with Overspeed and High Capacity

Samsung said it has started mass production of UFS 2.0 flash memory, with capacities of 32, 64 and 128G respectively. At present, the common flash memory for high-end mobile phones is eMMC 5.0. The UFS standard supports the "Command Queue" technology, which makes the reading speed faster than eMMC 5.0. Samsung said that its mass production UFS 2.0 standard 128G flash memory has a random read speed of 19000 IOPS and a random write speed of 14000 IOPS.

Samsung did not explicitly announce the specific sustained read/write speed, but said that it was close to the level of ordinary SSDs, and the power consumption performance would be reduced by 50%. In addition, the UFS 2.0 standard chip flash memory also uses the ePoP technology, which can save 50% of the space area.
