Aigo launched its latest Android tablet Aigo X86 at the end of 2014. The main selling points of the latter can be summed up as three: MIUI, Intel CPU and 2K resolution high split screen. It is probably the first and only Intel core device equipped with MIUI. How will it perform?

The kraft paper box package only has the English logo and the name of the X series, and the relevant information is posted on the side. The test machine we got is a 16G wifi version.
In addition to the warranty, instructions and three guarantees, the accessories are only the power adapter and data cable. The adapter is the mainstream 5V2A output, and the contact pin is retractable.
The appearance of the tablet has a familiar taste, but at least it is not a bad iPad mini male model. The front is a 7.9-inch 2048 × 1536 resolution screen.
The screen is embedded in a whole circle of plastic frame, which is a rare design. The camera is on the right side of the top of the fuselage, the light sensor is well hidden in the center, and the microphone hole is on the left side of the bottom.
On the back is a large piece of sandblasted anodized aluminum alloy, with the logo of Patriot and "Intel inside" printed on it.
The top signal transmitting belt is plastic wrapped, the left side is a 5 megapixel camera, and the bottom is a double speaker opening.
The texture of the side of the fuselage is very like metal, but in fact, only the back plate of the whole machine is metal. The arc on the top of the left side beautifully puts down the 3.5mm headphone connector. Below is the volume and power button on the polished surface. The key range is short and the touch is average.
There are mirco USB and TF card slots on the right side of the fuselage, but the card slot does not have a dust cover (cost reduction?).
It is rare to encounter a domestic flat plate that does not use a male mold, but limited by the price of 999 yuan, the machine has a certain compromise in workmanship, and the details are uneven.
The two sides of the body are similar to Nokia's arc design, and the thickness (8.3mm) is thinner than many mobile phones, so it feels good to hold horizontally.
However, the original design is longitudinal holding, and the handle of the curved edge to the normal holding posture is not significantly improved. However, the 7.9-inch screen is not fat, and it can barely be held by one hand.
Compared with the Xiaomi tablet using the iPad mini like male model, the Patriot X86 has a small size difference except for being slightly wider. For portability, you can directly refer to the iPad mini. However, the 384g weight of the machine is nearly 50g (an egg) heavier than the latter, which is also 360g heavier than the Xiaomi tablet. It is still a bit heavy to hold.

The screen parameters of the machine are the same as those of the iPad mini3, with a resolution of 7.9-inch 2048x1536 (324PPI). The fineness is impeccable.
The machine did not use full fitting for visual inspection. Although the distance between the screen and the front panel can be seen at the edge, the "big gray screen" phenomenon is not obvious, and it is estimated that it is related to the unknown coating measured inside the front panel.
From the direct appearance, the brightness of the machine is higher than that of the Xiaomi tablet on the left (possibly related to wallpaper), but the screen permeability is not as good as that of the Xiaomi tablet, with a slight white phenomenon. Its color temperature is more pleasing than the big yellow screen of millet plate.
For specific comparison, we found a slightly higher level Xiaomi tablet, a relatively strong Meizu MX4 screen, and a weak vivo Xshot on the flagship screen. The highest brightness of Patriot X86 is 366 nits, and the other three are 391, 520 and 428 nits respectively. The MX4 is different from the other three, xshot>Xiaomi Tablet>Patriot X86, but their brightness is not very different.
The uniform 100% brightness shows white. The millet panel in the upper left corner is really a big yellow screen. The color temperature of the Patriot X86 in the upper right corner is close to that of the MX4 in the lower left corner, warm and red, while the Xshot in the lower right corner is slightly cold.
The 100% brightness display is completely black. Except for the obvious light leakage under the MX4, the light leakage control of the other three parts is good. However, the black color of the Patriot X86 in the upper right corner cannot be pressed down (and it is red), but it is slightly better than the Xshot in the lower right corner.
The performance of the three primary colors, the performance of the Xiaomi tablet in the upper left corner and the MX4 in the lower left corner are far better than the other two; The biggest weakness of the Xshot in the lower right corner is really on the screen, even the tablet can't win; The lowest priced Patriot X86 performs even worse, with less color.
The proofs show that the big yellow screen of the millet plate in the upper left corner is obviously yellow, and the color temperature is out of tune with other several "; The second is the Patriot X86 in the upper right corner, which is also yellow, although it is less severe; The Xshot in the lower right corner is black and has low contrast (sunset proof).

To sum up, the screen of the Patriot X86 is very delicate, but the saturation is not enough (not bright enough), and the viewing angle is good. However, the strange phenomenon of white on the front side (I think it is very good on the side, which may be related to the unknown coating measured inside the front panel) has obviously affected the visual experience, which is much more obvious than the big yellow screen of the Xiaomi tablet. This high split screen can only get a medium comment at most.

The photo interface is completely native Android (which is also an important feature of the transplanted MIUI). Its functions are hidden too deeply, and the experience is not good. The rear 5 million pixel camera and the front 2 million pixel camera can take pictures quickly and focus at a reasonable speed. However, the problem of "unclear view but clear picture" often occurs with native cameras.
The performance of the 5 megapixel rear camera is unexpected, and the analytical power is good, even better than the 8 megapixel camera on Hongmi 2; The metering is slightly brighter; The yellow green color of the picture will be more prominent and sharp; The nearest focusing distance is about 10cm, and the wide-angle is small.
Compared with the rear camera, the front 2 megapixel camera is not satisfactory and does not support focusing. The clear distance is about 25cm, but this is not a big problem. Anyway, the selfie will not be so close... The tolerance of the camera is good, but the backlight has obvious purple edges, and the noise in the dark is serious.
Young people rarely use the tablet camera, but considering that many previous generations like to take photos with iPads when traveling, this rear camera may be more suitable for users who like to record things with tablets; The front camera is good for video chat. If you take a selfie, you'd better find your mobile phone.
System UI:
Although Xiaomi's MIUI is semi open and can be transplanted by the people, the mobile version of MIUI is the most popular. It is the first time that the MIUI on the Xiaomi tablet has been completely migrated to a third-party machine, and this is probably the first time that the MIUI has been migrated to an Intel core machine (later Intel core devices may also be able to use MIUI).
Its transplant is the tablet version MIUI V5 based on Android 4.4.4. The setting menu is designed as double columns, and the notice bar has translucent ground glass special effects and multitasking The interface is already card style, and the setting key has been replaced by the multi task key.

The Intel Z3735F equipped with the Patriot X86 adopts the 3D transistor technology of 22nm Bay Trail architecture, and the Remax technology can make the main frequency rise to 1.83GHz (1.33GHz in the normal state). But its main part is already the product at the end of 2013, and its performance is similar to that of the Snapdragon 800 nearly two years ago.

The battery capacity of the machine is 4300mAh, which is relatively small among the tablets (compared with 6700mah of the Xiaomi tablet). In addition, Intel's CPU is not a fuel efficient light. The official endurance is about 5 hours, which is more practical and generous, at least not like the virtual standard of domestic peers.

What surprised the author was the standby power consumption of the machine. In flight mode, the non root version of the green guard was turned on. 60% of the power was lost in the last five days, and the full power pure standby time was only about 8 days. Although it has little impact on daily use, it still has a big gap with the mainstream tablet's nearly one month standby. Fortunately, however, the standby power consumption of the machine with WiFi on has hardly changed.
After running for 8 to 20 minutes, the highest temperature is 48.1 degrees on the front and 39.2 degrees on the back. The heat is concentrated in the upper middle. It's strange that the back is so much cooler than the front, but the metal back still feels hot.
In terms of software compatibility, although the compatibility of the early generation X86 mobile processors is worrying, this problem has been basically solved. During the test, there was no problem of application flash back or unable to install. Life applications such as Taobao Tieba Weibo 58 worked normally. The special point is video applications. Because of the hard solution problem, some of them need a special X86 version to run normally, but the big brands like Youku and Sohu can run normally.
The decibel meter is 10cm away from the microphone, and the foam is played at the maximum volume. The maximum volume is 95.5 decibels, and the volume of the dual speakers is still guaranteed (even louder than the JBL speaker of YOGA). The volume is still sufficient even when the playing is blocked. The external audio quality is average, but better than most mobile phones. The sound is flat and cold. It's not a big problem to listen to music and movies at ordinary times. But if you want to enjoy music or listen carefully, you still have to wear headphones.

In terms of cost performance, the price of 999 yuan is also generous. Although it is more expensive than smaller brands such as Kubi Rubik's Cube and Yuandao, at least it is not a public model and the brand is more well-known. In contrast, the Xiaomi tablet, which costs 300 yuan, has a Tagre K1 that can drive 2K screens and a better screen and endurance, but this is 30% more than 999.
