256 core GPU NVIDIA releases eight core Tegra X1

Huang Renxun, CEO of NVIDIA, released the new SoC - Tegra X1 on the eve of the opening of CES2015. It has eight core CPUs (four core A57+four core A53) and 256 core Maxwell core GPUs. It is manufactured with 20nm technology and has very powerful performance.

Tegra X1 does not use Denver core on Tegra K1 dual core version, but uses ARM public version big LITTLE design adopts Cortex-A57 and Cortex-A53 "big and small cores". The GPU uses 256 core Maxwell graphics core, which is more ferocious than the previous 192 core Kepler architecture, and its overall performance is similar to that of the desktop system.

In addition to the 8-core 64 bit CPU and 256 core Maxwell graphics core, Tegra X1 also supports 60FPS video with 4K resolution, as well as 10bit and H.265 video.

Tegra X1 is manufactured using a 20nm process, so the chip area is not large.

Tegra X1 is also the first graphics processor to provide 1Tflops computing performance under FP16 precision. In addition, Tegra X1 supports DirectX 12, OpenGL 4.5, OpenGL ES 3.1, Unreal Engine 4 and other APIs.
