At CES 2015, instead of waiting for the legendary HTC flagship Hima, we waited for the new Desire series 826. This new machine still has a beautiful two-color appearance. The screen has been upgraded to 1080p and is directly equipped with the Android 5.0 system. Now let's see how this new machine works.
The 826 uses a 5.5 inch 1080p screen. In terms of performance, it maintains the combination of Snapdragon 615+2GB RAM as the previous 820. The native version is equipped with Sense UI based on Android 5.0. The design of appearance still retains the obvious design style of HTC. While retaining many 820 design languages, it also adds a part of Desire EYE design language.
In terms of shell material, the body of the 826 is still made of plastic, and there is a texture similar to rubber on the side of the body, providing a good grip for the body. The front of the 826 still retains HTC's iconic BoomSound speaker, but this time HTC hides the speaker between the screen and the upper and lower borders, which is the same as the previous Desire EYE.
The screen ppi of the 826 has reached 401, and the screen display is very sharp. The IPS panel also provides an excellent visual angle. Unfortunately, the 826 does not keep up with the current market popular ultra narrow border. Although the border is not wide, it has nothing to do with the ultra narrow border.
The 826 has become the first HTC mobile phone running Android 5.0 by accident this time, but the Sense UI is still version 6.0, which is no different from the current HTC mobile phone.
We are quite familiar with the 826 built-in Snapdragon 615 eight core processor. On the 826, the maximum main frequency of this processor is 1.7GHz. Like the 820, it is functional and the daily operation is quite smooth. However, what we expect most is what kind of performance this 615 processor will have after the 64 bit processing performance is liberated, 16GB expandable memory is also a common configuration on 826 mobile phones.
The rear camera of the 826 has not changed from that of the 820. It is still a 13 million pixel sensor, but the front camera has been replaced with a 4 million pixel UltraPixel lens. It seems that the camera moved from the One will continue to play its role in the front of the midrange computer, HTC's decision is smart in our opinion. After all, for the front camera, the light sensitivity is more important than the number of pixels.
In general, the 826 is an upgraded model of the 820. After the replacement of a higher resolution screen and a better front camera, the specification of the 826 is commendable, and the hidden front speakers are more easily accepted. The existence of the 826 also makes a good choice in the mid market. As for the price, the price of the 826 should be the same as that of the 820, However, it is not impossible to float slightly higher than 820.
That's all for the first time. Please look forward to our subsequent detailed evaluation.
