Although the overall workmanship is not superior, it is enough to abuse millet 2s and red rice (red rice 2s on the left and red rice 2s on the right), and the plastic strips on the frame become thinner and stronger.
However, when the screen is lit, it will feel that the frame of the body is very wide. However, thanks to the thinner and straighter frame, the frame width of red rice 2 is almost the same as that of millet 2 and red rice note.

Red rice 2 screens supplied by Sharp and Youda use the same CFF fitting technology as Red rice note and Xiaomi 2A, which solves the problem of the previous generation of large gray screen. However, compared with the full fit OGS used by Xiaomi flagship after Xiaomi 2, the front panel glass is still thicker, but the advantages are lower cost and higher yield.
Red rice 2 is about 383 nits, higher than 325 in red rice note and lower than 437 in millet 2s, which is in line.
MIUI has its own color temperature adjustment option, and the test process adopts the "natural+bright" mode. Red rice notes do not have this option because of the system castration.

The pure color of red rice 2 is very close to that of millet 2s, but the yellow composite color is not as accurate as that of rice 2 and rice 4; Because Xiaomi 4 has a brightness level higher than the other three computers, its color will appear lighter, but except for red, other colors are obviously more accurate and gorgeous.
When the red rice 2 screen displays color pictures (especially the samples of seashells, dandelions and sunsets), the phenomenon of blue and green is obvious, and the red rice 2s and red rice notes are still red and warm.
The visual angle of Hongmi 2 is good, basically the same as Xiaomi 2s, but the basic brightness is 50 nits lower, so it looks darker; Surprisingly, the red rice note with the lowest basic brightness has the highest lateral brightness

The rear camera of Hongmi 2 is still the 8 million pixel back lit CMOS supplied by OV, and the front camera is slightly increased from 1.6 million to 2 million. This makes it the lowest pixel product in the Xiaomi series of mobile phones on sale.
The photographing interface is a complete MIUI 6 style. The left stroke calls up the list of shooting modes. In addition to the magic focusing function on Xiaomi 4, the functions of "panoramic view, HDR, voice control, beauty, night scene anti shake" are available.

The camera speed of Hongmi 2 is much faster than that of Hongmi 1 and Hongmi Note, and even more than that of Xiaomi 2 s. The experience is close to that of Xiaomi 3 and Xiaomi 4, but the camera focus is very meaty and slow.
In the style of the photo, it is slightly blue and cold, and looks more profound. The white balance and light measurement are relatively accurate in most cases. It is not a problem for these two indicators to compete with each other. Maybe it is easier to adjust the OV camera? (Red rice uses OV CMOS, and Mi2 and Mi4 are Sony's IMX series).

The performance of macro is good, with obvious background blurring and accurate close focus. It's enough to take photos of food and bills every day.
In terms of night scene, the safety shutter of Hongmi was set at 1/10 second, with a high film rate, while the highest ISO was only 1500, but the machine applied the samples heavily, leaving few details. However, the metering and white balance of the machine are excellent.
The night proof picture is very bright, which is close to the naked eye, but the glare control of the lens on street lights and other highlights is remarkable.
It is worth mentioning that the focus of the prototype we got is a bit strange. No matter how far the focus distance is, there is a certain probability that the problem of "focusing on the left but not on the right" will occur. I wonder if it is an example.
Overall, the performance of Hongmi 2's 8 megapixel camera is in line. The discrimination and night view performance limited by hardware can only be like this, but the accurate light measurement and white balance are far beyond my expectations.

In terms of system, Red Rice 2 is directly equipped with MIUI 6 based on Android 4.4.4, and there is no full blood version of castration. It has the function of color temperature adjustment, and it also has double card management and minimalist mode than Xiaomi series.
The original setting key has been changed to the task switch key. In the task management interface, the display mode can be switched by double finger zoom, and the pull-down lock and upward stroke are supported.
In terms of normal functions, MIUI 6 is known for its gorgeous interface and UI animation. The original shortcut buttons in the classic notice bar Jiugong format are also reserved. The performance of the A53 architecture is similar to that of the A9, and the Snapdragon 410 can ensure food and clothing for daily use. The sliding screen of the desktop and settings is quite smooth, and the GPU presentation curve is also very beautiful. It rarely breaks the green line, and there is no pressure to feed the 720P screen.
Even microblog and post bar have good fluency performance. It is even a little smoother than Xiaomi 2s brushing MIUI 6, and a generation short of Hongmi notes are abused completely.
Small and medium-sized games such as temple escape, subway parkour, death trigger can run smoothly, and even wild drag racing 8 can run, and the smoothness is very good.
The biggest controversy on the configuration of Hongmi 2 is the 1G memory. The available memory is about 400m after startup. After continuously turning on the camera, dialing, microblogging, and posting bar, there is about 150 m of available memory left, but the fluency has not been significantly affected. Even after the Wild Flying Car 8 is turned on, the available memory can still be kept above 130m, which is a surprise.

The power consumption control of Snapdragon 410 is quite good. What's even more bizarre is that the most power consuming router is the wall climbing router.
Then there was a power failure of 15% for 2 hours of intermittent sample shooting, followed by a power failure of 25% for 2 hours of running. There were 6 minutes of intensive running and taking photos, and 20% of the electricity was still available; After 10 hours of standby, turn off WiFi and enter the flight mode, there is no power failure at all... The endurance performance is slightly adverse. It is not a big problem to charge every 2 or 3 days for daily mild use.
After 20 minutes of continuous running, the maximum temperature of the front is 33 degrees, and the back is 35.8 degrees. The heat is concentrated under the top camera.
As a contrast, the note of standing red rice is 25.6 degrees (i.e. the ambient temperature), while the front of millet 2s after about 5 minutes of running burns to 41 degrees
