The package is Xiaomi's classic kraft paper Books, guides, and warranty forms are all transferred into one envelope. Remove the foam box, and the purifier is wrapped with a layer of cloth bags.

Filter cartridge

The outer layer of the filter cartridge is PET (saturated polyester) mesh, which is used to isolate large suspended solids such as hair and fine chips.

The filter screen is folded through 161 layers and finally bonded into a hollow barrel. The filter screen is HEPA (high-efficiency air particle filter screen), and the developed length is 7m. It is used to adsorb PM2.5, PM0.3, pollen and other inhalable particles. The effective filtration rate of Guanxuan PM0.3 reaches 99.3%.

The coconut shell activated carbon officially publicized is in the innermost layer, invisible... The activated carbon in the purifier is mainly used to adsorb inorganic harmful gases such as formaldehyde, benzene, ammonia, etc.

To facilitate cleaning, the fan at the air outlet can also be turned on. Rotate the grille to open the top grille, unscrew the fixed cover of the fan to take out the fan blades.

There are grids around the rotor blades for protection/isolation, and four air ducts can be seen at the bottom.

Use and operation

The purifier can be controlled by app, which is mainly used to remotely control the switch and understand the air quality around the machine. The application will even provide suggestions on opening windows or opening purifiers in combination with the air quality in the local weather forecast.

However, it can be used normally without an app. The operation button on the front of the body can be used to switch between "automatic, sleep, high-speed purification modes", and the indicator light on the bottom will also stay on when working.

The purifier belongs to Xiaomi household series, and uses the same app with Xiaomi socket, Xiaoyi camera and other products.

After the app is opened, it will automatically search for the nearby Xiaomi intelligent products, help the purifier select wifi and enter the password to complete the connection.

The middle of the application home page is the measured value of indoor air quality, and the bottom is the measured value of air quality by the local observatory. The bottom button is used to jump between different purification modes and air volume (the background color will also change with the mode).

The intelligent functions include filter element replacement reminder, timing switch on/off, remote switch on/off, abnormal operation reminder (foreign matter blockage), automatic start (automatic start when the detected air quality is poor), etc.

Although the function is just to purify the air, it is deeply rooted in functions, such as regular "startup evolution, automatic evolution when the air quality is poor, abnormal and filter element replacement reminder".

user's experience

The length and width of the 260 * 260mm purifier is a little shorter than the long side (297mm) of A4, while the height of 73.5cm is a little shorter than the normal desk (76cm), and the body shape is similar to that of the water dispenser. When placing the purifier, a distance of 10cm shall be reserved for the back and 20cm for the side.

The purification principle is to form internal negative pressure through double fans, draw air from the bottom mesh, and force air out of the upper fan through the filter screen.

The official recommended applicable area is 28-48 square meters, which can meet the purification needs of ordinary living rooms or rooms. However, facing an office with an area of nearly 150 square meters, it can only filter the surrounding air. Like other purifiers using activated carbon materials, the air outlet can smell a slight acid smell peculiar to activated carbon.

wind power

The machine has three wind speeds, corresponding to automatic, sleep and high-speed modes.

The sleep mode (see the work indicator in the lower right corner) is mainly turned on when the user sleeps or is in standby. The wind is the weakest, and the wings of the express bill are not bent.

Interestingly, in the rotating air duct generated by the fan, a certain intensity of negative pressure is generated in the central area, which presses the express bill in the middle.

The wind force in the automatic mode is more than twice as high. The two wings of the express unit have been upright, but the central negative pressure zone recognizes that it is fixed.

The high-speed mode is much more violent. The wind is 7 or 8 gears higher, and the volume is close to the hair dryer. The wind force of the double fan four duct system can easily blow up the plastic mouse pad.

There is no pressure to blow the paper circle more than 1 meter high. Under the pressure of the rotating air duct, the paper towel rolls up by itself... At this time, the lower air inlet mesh can even suck up a dozen centimeters of paper scraps nearby.

noise

The sleep mode with the lowest wind speed can be heard close to the human ear. The "whirring" wind sounds like a refrigerator, with a decibel value of about 50. reference resources

As the physics textbook says, "30 decibels: desert night; 40-60 decibels: sound of normal conversation", as long as it is not placed at the head of the bed, it is difficult to hear its sound late at night.

Both the auto mode component and the noise increased slightly, and remained between 50-55.

The ambient noise at this time actually has reached 48-52 decibels.

The most expected high-speed mode, the volume directly reached the level of 80 decibels, is really quite violent.

Perhaps due to the noise problem, the furious high-speed mode will automatically switch to the automatic mode after 15 minutes. If you run at this air volume, you can easily break the official standard of 406 m3/h purification efficiency (it takes 12 minutes to purify 48 m2 of space), but only if no one is around, or you can tolerate the fan volume at this gear.

consume power

Carry out power consumption detection through the smart socket, power on and only turn on the air quality detection function, and the power is below 3W. 2.16 kilowatt hours (3 * 24 * 30/1000=2.16 KW · h) will be consumed after one month of operation.

The power consumption in sleep mode is about 4.5W, equivalent to 3.24 kilowatt hours per month.

The power consumption in automatic mode is about 6.5W, equivalent to 4.68 kilowatt hours per month. However, the automatic mode will change between the 1st, 2nd and 3rd air volume according to the surrounding environment. If the room air quality is low for a long time, the power consumption will be much higher.

Violent high-speed mode, power consumption is about 81W, equivalent to 58.3 kilowatt hours per month. However, this mode cannot be maintained for a long time, and the monthly power consumption of the machine will be far less than 58.3 kilowatt hours.

It can be calculated that the monthly power consumption of the machine will be between 2.16-58.3 kilowatt hours. The power consumption is similar to that of a laptop, and the power consumption is almost negligible.

Purification effect

Use Air Air (left side) and Haier Air Fruit (right side) to detect PM2.5 in the air. Their detection sensors are in the through-hole in the middle of the equipment. In automatic mode, the data is 11-12 on one side and 17 on the other.

In the furious high-speed mode, the data of Air Air is between 9.6-10, while the reading of Haier Air Fruit is 18 instead of decreasing, which is estimated to be due to insufficient machine accuracy (the wind is too strong, and the lightest Air Air is already beating).

On the table beside the purifier, the reading on one side is 19.8, and on the other side is 18.

On the ground 3 meters away (the air cone must be connected to the power cord, and the row plug+power cord can only run so far), the readings are 25 and 20 respectively, and the air cone that can detect VOC content still shows excellent air quality.

The test results proved two things. One is that after opening the purifier for most of the day (15:23), the PM2.5 of 28 square meters (3.14 * 3 * 3) was controlled below 25 (including near the ground), and the purifier really had some effect.

The second is the number displayed by the purifier app, which is significantly higher than that of Air Air and Air Fruit (the reading in the figure above is 34). It is estimated that the air quality index (AQI) is not just PM2.5.

Security

For a machine with a fan, the most worried thing is that the hand is stuck in the finger and hit by the blade, or even the hair is rolled in.

To deal with the former, the fan grille of the purifier is quite dense, and even the widest part can not let the little finger of the sister paper enter, and the surface layer is still two centimeters away from the blade, and the hand can only be stuffed with chopsticks or toothpicks, and the fingers have no risk.

Because the fan on the top floor is an air outlet, the hair will be blown out when it is close to it. It seems that the most dangerous frenzy mode, because the wind is very strong, is even more unlikely to let humans plug their hair into it at this time. The small mesh at the bottom where foreign matters can be inhaled is also unlikely to enter the hair. Even if the hair goes in, there is only one filter element inside, there is no safety risk.

In terms of active safety, the machine has a horn that can make a beep sound. When the back filter cover or the top fan cover is opened, the machine will stop working immediately and give an alarm. This safety setting is worth praising. The official also noted that when the transmission filter element is loose and foreign matters are stuck, it will automatically alarm.

In addition, the centrifugal fan with the maximum speed and force is inside the machine, which is a reassuring design. In general, the safety of the purifier is very high, and the risk factor is even lower than that of the fan.

summary

In addition to the appearance problems that are now making a lot of noise (sorry, the evaluation will not talk about the industry but only about the products), the millet purifier with two fans and four air ducts is simple in structure, but its workmanship and materials are quite good. The filtering performance, especially the fan effect and energy consumption, is really appreciated, but the noise in the extreme operating state is really high.

The price of the factory filter is 899 yuan, and the filter is 149 yuan (30 yuan plus freight), which is undoubtedly another price butcher. If you are in the vicinity of the imperial capital or a heavy industrial city, or there are garbage incineration plants, chemical plants and other air pollution sources near your home and office, it is really worth having an air purifier.
