Not long ago, Lumia officially took off the Nokia logo and replaced it with the Microsoft logo. Microsoft did not look at the Windows Phone with its own logo, but chose to start from the low side, using a rational, durable and cheap low-end phone as a stepping stone. Let's see if Lumia with the Microsoft logo will be different.

Appearance design and workmanship:
Lumia 535 The appearance design of the phone is not significantly different from that of the previous Lumia series phones. It looks like an expanded version of the 530 and 630. The simple back design has become the symbolic design language of the Lumia series phones, from low-end entry-level phones to flagship phones. However, the 535 has nothing to commend in terms of thickness, and the polished surface looks very consistent with the positioning.
In fact, we have a great tolerance for the appearance of entry-level smart phones. After all, due to price constraints, they cannot compete with flagship phones in terms of materials and design. The 535 is no exception, but we are very satisfied with the design of the 535's replaceable back cover and battery. After all, Who doesn't like a mobile phone that can change color at will.
As for the color selection of the rear cover, the 535 provides orange, green, gray, blue, black and white, and the price of the rear cover is not expensive. It is good news for users who like a colorful body. The rear cover is designed with wrapped edges, so as long as the rear cover is replaced, the color of the body can be completely changed without worrying about the matching of the borders.
The familiar Nokia logo can no longer be seen on the front and back of the 535. Instead, Microsoft's English font logo is used.
The 535 feels very comfortable in the hand, but the body of our green polished evaluation machine will become more slippery due to hand sweat and other reasons during use. As for the body size, the 535 is about the same size as the iPhone 6 (certainly thicker than the iPhone 6), and the thicker body also makes the holding more stable, It won't have any problem if you put it in your pocket.
The 535 front cancels the design of physical touch buttons, and the functions such as return are now replaced by the virtual buttons inside the system, which also makes the 535 front has no other openings except for the earpiece and microphone, and the front 5 megapixel wide-angle camera is placed on the corners.
There is nothing special about the design around the body. The buttons have a solid feel and a suitable position. The surface treatment process is the same as that of the back cover.
The back is equipped with a 5 megapixel camera, a single LED fill light and a single speaker, all of which are designed to be sufficient.
It takes a lot of effort to remove the battery cover of the 535. After opening it with both hands together, you can find two SIM card slots and one SD card slot, which supports hot swapping.
Screen performance:
The screen specification of the 535 is not outstanding at all. The resolution of the qHD is only 220 ppi with a volume dilution of 5 inches, so you don't have to expect much about the fineness of the picture. However, the screen brightness and contrast performance of the 535 are very good, which makes the overall appearance very good.
The maximum brightness of the 535 screen is 458 nits, and the contrast is 1118. It is very excellent in low-end models. In terms of color, the 535 screen is gorgeous, and the visual angle is also good.
When we tested the outdoor visibility ability, the 535's performance was very unsatisfactory. The screen reflected light seriously, which made it impossible for users to see the content displayed on the screen clearly in the fierce sunlight outdoors.
In other aspects, we also found that the accuracy of the 535 touch screen is significantly different from that of other Lumia mobile phones. When we evaluate it, there will be cases of identification deviation, and there will also be cases of no response at all. Although the impact of this problem will not be exaggerated in actual use, it is still a problem after all.
Battery life:
The 535 uses a detachable 1905 mAh battery. According to Microsoft's official data, the 535 can support one and a half days of 3G calls or two-week standby. In our actual test, the 535's talk time is only about half a day, and the performance of web browsing time and video playback time is also very poor. The total standby time of 44 hours is only average, Even considering the dual card function of 535, this achievement is not enough.
System UI:
535 uses the latest Windows Phone 8.1 operating system, which means that the UI and functions are not different from some other Windows Phones in general.
In terms of locking the screen, 535 does not provide Glance function, and double click wake-up is also a pity. Considering the positioning, Microsoft can be forgiven for doing so.
The home page can create folders, and the notification bar drop-down also has the notification management and shortcut switch functions that should be available.
The 535 system provides a "quiet mode" option. When enabled, 535 will block unauthorized calls and SMS messages within the time period set by the user, and can also automatically turn this function on and off according to calendar settings. Users can add frequently used contacts to the "circle" and add them to the "circle" The contacts in can call many times in a short time without being blocked by the system.
Microsoft's voice assistant Cortana is naturally built in and performs very well. Its functions are no different from those of Cortana on other Lumia phones.
Performance:
The Snapdragon 200 processor built into the 535 is a four core Cortex-A7 structure with a maximum frequency of 1.2GHz. The Adreno 320 GPU and 1GB of RAM are both very basic configurations, so they are not much expected than the package.
In terms of CPU performance, 535's performance is similar to that of Lumia mobile phones using Snapdragon 400 processors. GPU performance is the main drag, resulting in poor overall score.
However, in actual use, the 535 can still run Windows Phone 8.1 very smoothly. After all, if the UI smoothness of the WP phone cannot be guaranteed, there is nothing to be commended.
Camera:
The 535's 5 megapixel camera now sounds boring, and Microsoft has not equipped a dedicated shutter button for the 535, but at least the Lumia camera application is built in, and the manual mode is as easy as ever.
The camera can use all 5 million pixels when taking 4:3 photos, and the maximum number of pixels for taking 16:9 photos is about 3.7 million pixels. As for camera functions, 535 can download camera APP to expand camera functions.
To our great surprise, the 535's photographic effect is excellent for a low-end mobile phone. The picture retains very sufficient details, the contrast and color rendering are just right, and the noise control is also excellent. Although the white balance occasionally deviates, we are very satisfied with the overall imaging level of this camera.
As for the video quality, 535 performs poorly. It can only record videos with WVGA resolution at most, and the background sound of the video is only mono recording. However, the function of low-frequency filter is still provided, which is of practical significance.
Compared with the excellent performance of still photos, the picture details of the video are far from the excellent performance, but at least the color and contrast performance is very good (above is the video screenshot).
Summary:
For consumers with limited budget, a smart phone with large screen and good quality and dual card dual standby function is very attractive. The 535 is such a phone, and Microsoft itself knows this very well. India is the first launch market of the 535.
In fact, we have to say that Microsoft's strategy of starting from the low-end market is very smart. Although it is not a quick profit plan, it is definitely the safest way to do it. Slowly put Microsoft's Lumia mobile phone and Nokia's Lumia mobile phone together, and let everyone accept Microsoft's mobile phone by boiling frogs in warm water.
Back on the 535, this machine is at least a large screen mobile phone. Maybe the screen resolution is relatively low, but it may not be shabby for entry-level mobile phones, The smooth system experience provided by Windows Phone 8.1 is also an excellent selling point. The video recording function of the camera may not be effective, but the excellent quality of still photos is really commendable. Excellent solid workmanship and colorful can also keep consumers' hearts.

The brightness, contrast and color of the 5-inch screen are excellent;
Dual card dual standby function;
The system is smooth and Cortana has rich functions;
