The appearance design of Xiaomi smart socket and Xiaoyi smart camera has been introduced before, but today we will simply try them out.

The first thing to introduce is that Xiaomi designed and launched the Xiaomi socket by himself. The function and appearance design of Xiaomi smart socket are very pure and simple, which may be because it can be integrated into the design of home life. The socket of Xiaomi smart socket is a new national standard, providing a 220V socket and a USB socket. Daily small household appliances are free of pressure, but air conditioners and other household appliances are weak.

In horizontal comparison, Xiaomi smart socket has one major advantage over the products that have been evaluated before, that is, in terms of size, it can be said that Xiaomi smart socket is only half the size of previous products. Xiaoyi intelligent camera is a product of Xiaomi ecological chain, which can be simply regarded as a product launched by Xiaomi and supply chain manufacturers. In terms of shape, the surface of Xiaoyi's smart camera looks no different from that of a conventional home camera, but it still retains the advantages of Xiaomi's smart socket in details, such as its smaller size and more sophisticated tooling.

What's more interesting is that the Xiaoyi intelligent camera can't provide functions such as controlling rotation due to its few functions, but in exchange for the convenience of USB power supply, it has more options in the installation form. As shown in the above figure, the body of Xiaoyi intelligent camera is only the size of one camera, and it can realize mobile power supply through USB power supply, which can be used anytime and anywhere.

In my opinion, the base of Xiaoyi intelligent camera does not provide functions such as electric rotation, but only a bracket, and Xiaoyi intelligent camera can be powered through mirco USB. In terms of adaptation, Xiaoyi smart camera is as simple and convenient as Xiaomi smart socket. After Xiaoyi smart camera is connected, it can be used after Wi Fi connection through mobile phone app.

On the functional interface, the Xiaoyi intelligent camera is relatively complete, but I personally think that the interface design, layout and smoothness are also better than the products evaluated before. Xiaoyi intelligent camera uses F/2.0 aperture, 111 ° wide-angle and 4x digital zoom support, and the video recording resolution is 1280 * 720. Due to hardware reasons, the video recorded by Xiaoyi's intelligent camera is fisheye, with obvious distortion. But for home use, it is important to see a larger space range. In addition, the Xiaoyi intelligent camera also supports the two-way call function. Just press and hold the call key in the interface to realize the call. The actual test call effect is clear and bright enough. The most critical real-time video viewing, which provides two kinds of definition, can also maintain enough fluency in the low broadband speed.

Smart home has two important components. In addition to enough and meaningful smart home hardware, software experience and functional linkage are crucial. Due to the cooperation mode between Xiaomi Ecology and Xiaomi Smart Home, the current Xiaomi Smart Home Ecology supports Xiaomi Routing App, Smart Home App and the corresponding manufacturer's App, and there is not much difference in use and function.

This experience uses smart home apps together. On the interface, smart home apps are divided into three categories, namely My Device, Device Store and Personal Center. My device can add and view smart home devices. Of course, the device store is for purchase, and the personal center is for some details. Of course, the smart scene function should be highlighted.

Smart scenarios have been launched in the Xiaomi Routing App before, but the smart home products used together have not been officially launched, so they appear to be weak. Smart scene is actually the linkage between smart home products. At present, the linkage function can be performed between Xiaoyi smart camera and Xiaomi smart socket to achieve automatic closing, automatic opening and corresponding trigger conditions.

If the Xiaomi smart camera detects a movement, it can trigger the Xiaomi smart socket to open and realize the automatic lighting and other functions. As Xiaomi launches more smart home products and develops more functional conditions in the future, smart scenes will greatly enhance the software experience.

In terms of hardware configuration, neither Xiaomi smart socket nor Xiaoyi smart camera has shown its advantages. However, its shape design and mold making gave me a good experience and feeling. The smaller size and more possibilities are the biggest reasons for my favor.

In terms of functions, Xiaomi smart socket and Xiaoyi smart camera provide the functions provided by similar products on the market. However, the optimization and expansion of its application app and use process have realized a more simple and smooth use experience. For smart home, how to install and use efficiently and simply is the most obvious place for user experience. The first products of Xiaomi Smart Home have certain advantages in this respect.

In addition, Xiaomi Smart Home is not just Xiaomi's one-on-one efforts. It cooperates and develops through Xiaomi's ecological chain, realizing more possibilities. Xiaomi's ecological chain is invested by Xiaomi, designed by the manufacturer of the ecological chain, and participated by Xiaomi, realizing the consistency between the internal appearance of Xiaomi's smart home system and the user experience. Although only four products have been released at present, Xiaomi Ecological Chain will undoubtedly be the big killer in the future.
