However, there are two important functions of this update that are not related to the mainland.
This update has opened Apple's major product this year, the Apple Pay payment system. At present, 220000 retailers in the United States have confirmed that they will support this technology. This is undoubtedly the most important payment function of Apple, but Apple Pay needs to go through a lot of negotiations to enter China. It is estimated that Apple Pay is difficult to enter China recently.
Actually It's not new that Apple Pay can't enter China, but in addition to the Apple Pay function above, the most important one of iOS 8.1 updates is the addition of 2G/3G/4G network locking function. After updating to 8.1, you can see the LTE (4G), 3G and 2G switch in [Settings] - [Cellular Mobile Network] - [Voice and Data]. Users can lock a network according to their own needs. However, it seems that this function is related to the operator, and this option cannot be found on the Bank of China and Hong Kong versions.
Possible causes:
In fact, it has nothing to do with the mobile phone model (iPhone 5, 5s or 6 series) and regional version. To be exact, it is not that there is no such menu. Instead, the system displays different menus according to the different sim cards inserted. At present, none of the three domestic operators has VoLTE, and the sim card of the three operators will not have a 234G selection switch. Because China has not deployed VoLTE, it is impossible to use 4G to make phone calls. Naturally, there is no 234G lock. Otherwise, if you lock on 4G, you will not be able to make phone calls. So as long as the operator provides VoLTE, it will naturally open this menu option. It is said that at present, domestic operators are also deploying VoLTE. It is believed that the machine of Bank of China will have this function in the near future.
