Time flies. Five years have passed since the official release of the original Droid. Motorola has seen too many things happen to Motorola, and MOTO X has replaced Droid as Motorola's leading actress. However, Motorola has not given up DROID, but has continuously introduced new products, making the DROID series of mobile phones amaze us again and again.
Of course, now the Droid series has become a customized machine manufactured by Motorola for VERIZON, an American operator, The specifications of DROID TURBO are also amazing: 5.2 inch 2K screen, 21 megapixel camera, at least 32GB of memory, Snapdragon 805 processor and 3900mAh battery. It sounds like a sports car with a turbocharger.
Appearance design:
TURBO still has the unique design language of DROID family, but compared with its predecessors, TURBO has done enough downsizing work. The narrow border design makes the 5.2 inch screen not become a burden in the hands.
The whole frame is also covered with metal.
The back cover is made of plasticized glass fiber and nylon fiber (the 64GB version is only available on the right side of the nylon fiber back cover). The texture and material of the back are similar to those of the DROID phone before, so the hand feel is natural.
Among the two rear cover materials, nylon fiber looks more attractive because it has a more natural fiber feel.
Kevlar fiber is a must. In addition, the additional hydrophobic coating on the back cover also makes TURBO have a certain resistance to slight splashing. However, TURBO has no waterproof ability. It can only be said that it can prevent splashing without being cheap. In any case, the appearance design of TURBO is still unique, and the body construction is as solid as that of the DROID series mobile phones before.
Screen performance:
TURBO has a 5.2 inch 2K screen, which is made of AMOLED, and its PPI has reached 565, which means that TURBO's screen is one of the most exquisite in the mobile phone industry.
The characteristics of the AMOLED screen have been very obvious. The black display can achieve non luminous, ultra-high contrast, ultra wide visual angle and very bright colors. Yes, you can oversaturate the black AMOLED color, but in terms of visual attractiveness, the TURBO screen is really one of the best.
Performance:
Motorola is really a performance controller. TURBO has the most advanced hardware at present: 2.7GHz Snapdragon 805 processor and 3GB RAM. TURBO is really strong in various points.
TURBO scored 3080 points in the GeekBench 3 test, even exceeding Note 4 and iPhone 6.
In Anthare's 5 runs, TURBO once again won the first place, followed by Note 4.
Basemark scores are also excellent.
GPU score is similar to Note 4.
In the browser test, Samsung's black technology with its own browser shines again, and TURBO's chrome browser is also very good.
Photo proof:
Motorola has developed a 21 million pixel camera for TURBO. The number of pixels is even more than that of Sony's Z series mobile phones. The aperture value of TURBO's camera is F/2.0, and there is an LED fill light on both sides.
TURBO can take 5428 × 3936 4:3 pictures at most, and the number of pixels when taking 16:9 pictures is 5248 × 2952 (about 15.5 million pixels).
In terms of video recording, TURBO can record 24FPS 4K video (it is unclear why Motorola does not increase the frame rate to 30FPS), and 1080p video can only reach 30FPS at the highest, while the resolution of slow motion video is only 720p.
Summary:
There is no doubt that TURBO is one of the most configured mobile phones this year. It has a very beautiful appearance and is uncompromising in hardware configuration and workmanship. Unfortunately, it is only officially launched in the United States. The 3900 mAh battery can even compete with some tablets. At present, the contract price of $199.99 given by VERIZON is also attractive, while the two-year contract price of 64GB is $249.99.
In addition, TURBO's fast charging technology also enables TURBO to obtain enough power to support up to 8 hours in 15 minutes. To this end, I just want to say "Motorola has done a good job".
Of course, simple hands can't fully show all the details of TURBO, so please look forward to our detailed evaluation.
