As Casio TR series cameras become popular, Sony is finally unable to sit still. The latest digital camera KW1 launched by Sony this year, which focuses on exquisite appearance and self portrait function, can be seen as a clarion call to challenge Casio. Let's take a look at Taiwan's hands-on play.

When KW1 was officially launched in Taiwan, its model was changed to KW11. Because KW1 was named and installed on the products of other manufacturers before, in order to avoid name collision, KW11, which has the same pronunciation as "cute" in Japanese, was used as the model when it was launched in Taiwan, but its specification is exactly the same as that in the mainland, so it is directly called KW1 below.

KW1 has an equivalent 21mm/f2.0 fixed focus lens, which is installed on a rotatable module.

KW1 supports WI-FI and NFC, that is to say, it can use mobile phones to take remote photos of it. As for the price, the price listed in Taiwan is NT $24980, about 5020 yuan, while the official price of the Mainland State Bank is 5199 yuan.

At the bottom are very conventional data interfaces and screw ports for mounting the base.

There are few buttons on the KW1 body. There are only two buttons on the side below the upper right lens, which are responsible for the power supply and shutter respectively. This makes the shooting method of this self portrait artifact become very focused on the form of direct shooting, which is like a mobile phone in use, because it is very easy to block the lens if you also want to use the shutter button for horizontal shooting. Although it may be that KW1 didn't really try out the most suitable shooting method at the small editing scene, KW1 also supports screen touch shooting, so for most users, there is no problem with normal photography.

For a selfie camera, although the specification is obviously not the key point, let's mention it a little. The complete model name of KW1 is DSC-KW1, which belongs to Sony's Cyber Shot series. The sensor is 19.2 million pixel Exmor RS CMOS, and the sensitivity range is ISO80-3200 (photography); ISO50-1600 (video recording), video recording up to 1080p/30fps, supporting digital zoom and digital anti shake.

On the screen side, it is a 3.3 inch 1.22 million pixel touch screen.

KW1 uses Sony's NP-BN1 battery and the battery is detachable. Sony claims that KW1's endurance can shoot 250 photos or record 30 minutes of movies. The body weight is 136g when the battery and memory card are included.

The memory card supports Sony's own M2 card and the very mainstream MicroSD card.

KW1 without too many physical buttons is easy to operate, and its main menu has only four functions, namely beauty effect/intelligent automatic/photo effect/scene selection. Basically, these functions should be familiar to those who have used Cyber Shot cameras.

However, Sony also stressed that in addition to providing real-time skin beauty and face slimming function during shooting, it can also make more in-depth "fine-tuning" in the menu after shooting: such as adjusting the size of the eyes. In actual use, I think the effect is really obvious. It must be said that it is really a model created for selfie. But during the field trial, KW1's switching speed in the menu room was a little slow, but this may be because the camera itself has been performing real-time beauty effect calculation.

In addition, the body color of KW1 is divided into four colors: white, pink, green and purple, and Sony will give a circular ring like base to a consumer who buys KW1, to further facilitate buyers who like to take selfies.
