After waiting for 13 days, when the coveted watch client "inHealth" finally came online, we also downloaded and tested it at the first time. Now let's take a look at the actual experience of this smart watch.

working principle
InWatch π completes all work through built-in LED lights, motion sensors (accelerometers) and vibrators.
The 12 LED lights display the time in the way that the hour hand is always on and the minute hand is flashing. In order to save power, the time display will be performed only when the action wakes up.
Motion sensors record displacement and posture in the background all the time, and identify whether the user is walking or running, shallow sleep or deep sleep through algorithms. At the same time, it is also used to judge whether the user raises his hand (wants to see the time), so as to control whether the time display lamp lights up.
On the other hand, the vibrator will remind the user after receiving the control information from the mobile phone (when there is an incoming message or alarm clock).
Software
InWatch π seems to put the core of the smart bracelet into the traditional Seiko table. The only interactive work it can do is shake and light up. Except for watching the time, all functions are completed through the app.
The app that makes watches skip tickets can be said to be the most exquisite one among smart watches/bracelets.
To open an application for the first time, you need to register. Three login methods are supported: mobile phone number, microblog, and QQ.
The application will automatically request to open Bluetooth, search the watch and automatically connect. After successful connection, the watch will have a vibration warning.
Then the routine data of gender, height, weight and age are entered.

The functions of inWatch π and its app include: time watching, SMS/phone/alarm clock reminding, step counting in the direction of health, sleep monitoring, and diet management. Because the watch has no interactive function, data acquisition and synchronization are performed in the background by default.
When you raise your watch by turning your wrist, the hour light will always be on and the minute light will flash. Since there are only 12 lights, the accuracy can only reach 5 minutes.
The watch can be reminded by SMS and incoming call in the form of vibration and flashing, and the user can choose the reminding method (separate vibration or flashing, or vibration+flashing).
Its alarm clock is integrated into the sleep monitoring function. By setting the sleep and wake up time, the application will pre start the sleep monitoring mode and wake up the user in the form of vibration at the wake up time.
The health function mainly includes three items: "diet, exercise and sleep". The application will automatically generate a three-level health plan of "light, medium and heavy" according to the physiological data entered by the user. Each plan has different requirements for exercise, diet and sleep.
The diet management function requires users to record the food they eat, so as to calculate the nutrient intake, which can calculate the precise intake of fat, protein and other nutrients.
There are different types of packages for breakfast, lunch and dinner, but users can only select the types and portions of ten or so kinds of food, with less precision, and users need to consciously record, which is not meaningful.
The movement step counting function will record the steps at different time points, and calculate the walking distance according to the user's height. The watch will recognize the type of movement of the user, automatically mark it with signs such as walking and running, and display each application period with a timeline. This is great.
It is worth mentioning that the watch can record 7 days of movement data offline, even if you forget to synchronize with your mobile phone for a period of time. The above figure shows the movement data recorded by the watch before the application.
The sleep record records the user's sleep status at different time points in the form of a timeline, and counts the duration of deep and shallow sleep to help users understand their sleep quality. Of course, the premise is to sleep with a watch.
user's experience
InWatch π has five functions: time watching, reminding, step counting, diet and sleep monitoring.
As a smart watch, the first thing to investigate is the time display. The time of inWatch π shows that it is better than ordinary bracelets, but it still lags behind conventional watches.
Watch arousal is mainly based on the rotation amplitude and horizontal action amplitude (acceleration). The measured characteristic is that the reaction of the watch to rotation is more sensitive than that to acceleration, and the time will only be displayed after it is still.
This tuning algorithm allows the watch to be displayed almost when it is raised in daily use, but it will not waste power when walking.
However, the biggest problem is the design of the flashing pointer. After the hour hand is displayed, you have to wait nearly 1 second to see the minute hand, which directly causes the action of looking at the time to take 2-3 seconds, and it is impossible to "glance" at the time. In addition, the accuracy of 5 minutes is not a small problem.
In terms of reminder function, only calls, SMS and alarm clock are supported temporarily. The former is mainly used to prevent missed connections, which is more practical for users who are accustomed to putting their mobile phones in their bags.
In my opinion, the alarm clock vibration reminder is the most existent. At least, it will not be awakened by a "rude" bell when getting up. However, the problem is to wear a watch to sleep, which will be a problem for many users. In addition, considering the battery life, the watch vibration is weak, and there will be some practical problems for users who cannot wake up after a thunderstorm.
The step counting function is fully automatic, so it is easy to use. In addition, the application will calculate the amount of motion in different time periods according to the algorithm, which is a great design.
But because of this design, we cannot directly compare the accuracy of the machine's step counting. However, it accurately recorded the number of steps taken by the author every time he went to the toilet, which was between 122-125 steps (121 steps are needed for manual calculation to go back and forth to the toilet).
Depending on the setting of periodic movement record, users can even use it as a diary to record their status in each period.
Sleep monitoring can only be tested by wearing the bracelet together with other bracelets to sleep. Because the app was launched today, there is no data for the time being, and it will be added later. But I'm afraid few people will sleep with their watches
As a newly launched app, it also has some minor problems. For example, after registration, the height cannot be modified, and after the food data is entered, it cannot be deleted or modified, which is not convenient for users who often use cheap and slippery hands; There is no access to view data 7 days ago.
In addition, the current alarm clock function is not perfect, and there is no independent setting interface. It can only work when the sleep time is changed during sleep detection. In addition, there are small bugs such as manual synchronization failure and digital error.
summary
According to the conventional definition of a smart watch, it should be able to interact directly with users, and even display short messages or reminders. If so, inWatch π is a "watch shape bracelet" device, a bracelet that can display time, or an ordinary watch with the bracelet function.
According to this algorithm, it may not be a qualified smart watch, but the defined boundaries cannot affect its appearance and function. But if you use it as a bracelet, it is probably the best one in the market.
The usability and ease of use of mobile phone connection, time display (for bracelet products), step counting and other functions are quite good. Moreover, the refinement of its app has also refreshed the author's understanding of health device clients.
However, different people have different opinions on its cost performance. Its official price is 399 yuan, and it is 199 yuan when purchased together with the MX4. Whether it is worth buying depends on everyone's needs.
