Varmilo keyboard series has previously introduced VA104M and VB660M, but today we introduce its latest VA87M, which is also a common 87 key. The VA87M is the same as the Varmilo keyboard series. It has quite a number of options and choices in the customization of custom fields. Of course, it has another special feature. As a matter of fact, we can think of one of the highlights of the VA87M is its lightweight design.
In terms of packaging design, VA87M continues Varmilo's consistent hard kraft paper packaging, and has certain excellent performance in both protection and waterproof. The label sticker on the side also marks various information, such as keyboard model, shaft color, key cap color, and shell color. Of course, LED light color is not marked.
It is still a common three piece set in packaging accessories, including instructions, data cable and key puller. Among them, Varmilo's data cables are all gold-plated in the interface design, and are equipped with cable ties and dust plugs. The key puller is a high-end steel wire puller, which is full of sincerity in accessories.
In terms of key position design, VA87M uses 87 key position, which is also standard in all aspects, and there is no problem of familiar key position. In terms of appearance design, the VA87M uses a side carved key cap. Seen from the top, it has a hidden domineering feeling. The frosted texture and angularity of the shell are very pleasing to me.

The VA87M does not use the no top cover design similar to the pirate ship K series. Due to the design of the thin upper cover, some exposed shafts and LEDs can be seen from the side. Of course, some people have some doubts about this design. For example, when exposed to the air, dust is easier to enter the shaft body, which affects the life of the shaft body. But in fact, it does not make any difference.
The light and thin upper cover has higher requirements for workmanship, because the thinner upper cover has higher requirements for precision and processing, otherwise the product will have obvious bulges or mismatches in some places, which is not the case for the VA87M.
The Varmilo VA87M is designed with a built-in steel plate and uses Cherry MX axis. There is not much to say about the feel. After all, the reputation of the original German factory lies there. In terms of large key position, VA87M is designed as a stabilizer bar, which has made some progress in adjustment and is relatively crisp.
Just looking at the two pictures above, you might think it strange that the axial body is of two colors. VA87M inherits the consistent characteristics of Varmilo series, and has great space and advantages in customization. The axle body has Cherry MX's red, black, green, tea, white, green, milk, gray and paragraph gray, and the LED light colors are red and blue. White, orange, green and other options, keycaps are customized according to the various options provided and the sublimation. Of course, what is more special is the above figure, which specifies the key position shaft body to realize the partition pressure.
This time, the side engraved dark gold keycap first appeared on the VA87M is quite good. Its characters use the more common laser carving process, and the keycap material is PBT. The characters of the dark gold keycap have a certain gold tone, but they are not too rich. The effect is really low-key and luxurious. In terms of hand feel, it actually uses the Leopold key cap mold, which I quite like and admire in terms of hand feel, touch, and even bottom shape, which is also a highlight of the VA87M.
The Varmilo VA87M has been officially launched at present. Its basic model uses a side engraved key cap and the common shaft without backlight, with a price of 599. Other models have a certain increase according to the shaft body.
