Disassembly of Texas Instrument Processor Moto 360

The famous dismantling website IFIXIT dismantled Moto 360. It can be seen from the disassembly that the Moto 360 processor is Texas Instruments OMAP3630, and the battery is 400mAh and 4G ROM.

Step 1: Remove the watch strap

MOTO 360 is well made and uses a standard 22mm strap.

Step 2: Remove the rear protective panel

First, melt the adhesive on the back with a hot sandbag for disassembly.

After removing the rear panel, you can see the identification of 360's built-in heart rate sensor and FCC.


Step 3: Remove the motherboard

The 360 motherboard and its protective cover can be easily taken out with a knife, but it should be noted that there is a flat cable between the motherboard and the screen.

Step 4: Remove the waterproof rubber ring

Because 360 has IP67 protection capability, the waterproof rubber ring inside the fuselage is indispensable.


Step 5: Disassemble the mainboard

First, take the motherboard out of the protective cover. It can be seen that the motherboard is surrounded by brass, which is connected to the external frame to play the role of grounding.

360 has a built-in 3.8V 300mAh battery and supports Qi wireless charging technology. Five round metal contacts may be used for programming, testing or cracking.


Step 6: Remove the battery

There is a small plastic sheet on the battery, which can be removed by gently pulling.

Step 7: Disassemble the mainboard protective cover

Remove the protective sticker to see the wireless charging coil and heart rate sensor.

Yellow: Toshiba THGBMAG5A1JBAIT 4GB e-MMC memory

Qing: Texas Instruments 1211A1 USB 2.0 transceiver

Purple: Texas Instruments AFE4490 integrated analog heart rate detector

Under the RAM chip is Texas Instruments X3630ACBP (OMAP3630) processor.

Red: Wolfson WM7121 overhead microphone

Orange: Texas Instruments TPS659120 power management unit

Huang: Texas Instruments BQ51051B Integrated wireless charging receiver

Qing: WL18G 31 46C1VRI

Blue: Wolfson WM7132 bottom microphone

Purple: Jingmen Technology SSD2848K1 display controller


Inside the black box on the back is the MPU-6051 six axis (built-in Gyroscope and acceleration sensor) motion sensor, silver component is vibration motor.



Step 9: Disassemble the screen

When disassembling the screen, the screen and the frame need to be heated again to dissolve the adhesive. After heating, the screen can be removed with a pick.

Step 1: Remove the bottom rubber ring and remove the T5 screw at the bottom

It is difficult to disassemble the rear panel and screen, which will affect the waterproof ability.

The battery is heavily covered by the original, and the whole 360 needs to be disassembled when replacing the battery.

Replacing the screen also requires a complete disassembly of 360.
