BlackBerry announced that the Passport will be officially released and launched on this Wednesday, September 24. Although BlackBerry did not announce the specific country where it will be launched, it is conservatively estimated that the UK, Canada and the United Arab Emirates must be on the list. After all, the conference was held in London, Toronto and Dubai.
John Chen, CEO of Blackberry, said that within two weeks after the launch, Passport will be listed in "many places around the world", including Asia.
John Chen also said that the price of the unlocked version of the Passport in the US market would be $599, but the specific price that consumers get will vary according to the local tax rate.
Passport has a 4.5-inch 1440 × 1440 screen, a 13 megapixel camera, a 2.2GHz Snapdragon 800 SoC, 3GB RAM, and 32G expandable storage. The 3450 mAh battery capacity can guarantee a 36 hour battery life.
